New Around These Parts

Hi There
 My Name in Marilyn & I have been lurking around awhile & decided it was time to say Hello. Some of you among this board already know me from other places, but
I am 55 & had Lap RNY 3/15/04 was 360 lbs lost to 204 which was my lowest
I had gained 50 back and have currently lost 25 of that & now weigh 223.
Still working on the rest of the regain. Constant battle as you probably already know.
I just found a new Doc after being without Insurance for a very long time & unemployed Since October. Just moved back to AZ (Bullhead City) just the other
side of Laughlin Nv. from San Diego where I was help My Mom with health issues.
She is 86 & doing much better than Me most of the time. I am one of those that never
got below 200 lbs as I believe was not bypased long enough. I think most of you will or
can relate to that. My blood work that was just done came back pretty good accept
that my diabetis is badly uncontrolled. So it is back to very low carb chicken & brocoli
for me for awhile & probably more meds. My biggest problem is constant back pain
that I have had since Late October & now hopefully will get MRI to find out what is
causing the problem. Tired of living on Advil (I know not good for us, but the only
thing that works) other than Vicodin or purcoset & can't get that without Insurance.
This Doc is too New to even go there yet. Anyway Glad to be on board & hope to be
around more often. Sounds like you are a fun & knowledgeable group.

Welcome Bearlady! This is a good place to be. I credit this forum for a lot of my recovery.
I am thinking you are saying the doc did not bypass enough of your intestines,I have heard of that.
I am sorry for your pain,I live with it every day.
I look forward to getting to know you.
  

That is exactly what I am saying. My Doc only did one kind of surgery even though he
was very good at it. He did not change anything depending on your weight. Many of
us that were onver the 350 range have had the same problems of not getting down where we wanted & regain. Some have had revisions, but, can't afford it and my insurance thru AZ State won't pay for it.

im sorry you have not been feeling well, and that you are fighting insurance issues as well. thats not a good combo.
