Hump Day-What's New?

I slept until 7:30 today. That never happens. Woke up to a raging headache, not very nice but it will pass.
I decided to look at more cars and forgot to eat until late afternoon. No protein bars or cheese sticks in my purse - how silly of me. As a treat, I stopped at a little cafe and had lunch. A scoop of yummy ginger chicken and some fresh fruit, perfect.
Two of the group memebers had WLS so I will visit them after work. The man told me he lost 28 pounds on the two week liquid diet!!! The woman lost 10 pounds on the same diet. That seems to be the way this works. Men lose soooooo much faster than the women.
Time to eat, shower, shovel on some make-up and scoot to work.
Kisses

Good Morning Margo & OFFr's,
Happy Birthday Pat R! Hope it is a very good b-day for you!
It's a bright sunny day and it is going to warm up a bit, which excites me, as it will make walking Dillinger a little easier, since he is shaved in so many spots, I felt bad for him going outside the last few days :( Anyway, I am home one last day, unless there is a need for me to stay home tomorrow, Dillinger seems to be coming along nicely, eating, resting and this morning he even had some prance in his walking step ;) So I will enjoy indulging him one last day and take it from that point. The pathology report came back and it was the aggressive form of cancer, so I was given the signs to look for and told it could be any time frame from a week to as long as 3 months, whatever time he has, will give us loving time together and when I see signs of failing I will do the right thing for him, I am blessed for what I've had with him and am coming to terms with it a little more each day.
That's about all going on here for the moment.
So folks, enjoy this day and my prayers and positive thoughts go out to anyone in need of them!
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Laureen, I am so sorry to read that it's an aggressive cancer. Did it start with cancer of the spleen? My huge German shepherd died of spleen cancer 1 1/2 years ago, and, before that, I knew nothing about it. It is such an aggressive cancer that the day I knew something was wrong with Seamus (I took him twice to the vet before the diagnosis as I knew that something was amiss, but that is another story) he was euthanized. The night before, he looked for one of his balls in the house, found it, and played "soccer" with me. The next day, he was dead. Dogs are so bloody courageous, and they don't want us to know that they are ill.
You are wonderful for taking such good care of Dillinger, especially at his time of greatest need. I have worked with rescued G. shepherds and know that so many people would have let their dog suffer instead of doing what is humane and best for their dog. There is a lot that one can see in another's character by the way that they treat animals. Margaret (((hugs)))
