What's New Tuesday?
I agree on car hunting ... I look in Consumers Reports first and then decide what I like. I want something that's going to last a long time ... that's all I look for. My brother, on the other hand, is more meticulous. He's looking for his dream car ... sporty, handles well, etc. He was off to the Milwaukee car show after looking at various dealers last week, hoping to score a good deal ... we've all told him to get a Honda or Toyota; he thinks he'll get a better deal from the Detroit 3 because they're desperate.
Good luck, though!
Good Morning Cindy and Friends, Rainy and fog yesterday, wind today. But at least it's above freezing unlike a lot of places.
Mike's on the Oregon coast with some friends. Must say I'm envious tho I go much more often than he does. I didn't leave the house yesterday until 6pm. We had carpet layers here and with the nasty weather it took them longer than usual. Still not finished as the carpet needs to "warm up" before they stretch it. They are supposed to be here at 8am to finish up. Hopefully I'll be able to get out some today.
I have a list of errands a mile long. Did get my sewing machine up and running for the first time in months. Hemmed a couple of pairs of jeans that I got on freecycle.com Brand new Lands End that a gal was giving away. Just needed a few inches cut off. So (sew?) three denim needles later the task was complete. Did I mention that I HATE hemming jeans??
Cheryl, my heart goes out to you. Job security is a thing of the past it seems. I'm glad that at least you are in a job that you like and where they treat you well. The Tri Cities seems to be holding up better than most areas in this recession. Sending positive thoughts your way. Sounds like your new friend is getting comfortable enough to test the boundaries! I'm glad Newt has a new friend.
Cindy, Mike said the sun was shining when they arrived in Lincoln City followed by a downpour about an hour later!
Nothing much else. Went to look at an "antique" armoire advertised. NOT! Would you believe 1970's Spanish style??? The gal selling it was about 20. I guess it was antique to her. Not at all what I'm looking for. Want a nice solid older wardrobe to put on the wall in our master bath to hold towels, spa chemicals, extra bath supplys. I'll keep looking.
Hugs to Dillinger. Hoping he and Laureen get some rest today. Dill, I empathize. That having to poop and not being able to is a pain. Ya know, pain meds do that to me. . . I imagine to him too. At least unlike Cheryl's new friend he requests going out side. Our little Maggie leaves a Tootsie Roll inside sometimes when it rains. She just gives me the dirtiest look like "You don't go outside when it's crappy (couldn't resist) why should I?"
Happy Tuesday friends!

Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
I'm on the phone with Brenda ... she's having computer problems but say****o everyone.
My back is feeling better today ... the chiropractor adjusted it and fixed it up. He told me after adjusting it I should use ice on it, so I did that. It still hurt a lot yesterday but this morning was all better.
Talked to the ortho doc this morning about my leg swelling. His nurse and the PA weren't concerned; they said I could go back to wearing the TED hose again but otherwise, it's nothing to be concerned about, it's something that happens after surgery. So I guess I won't be concerned either. I've checked all the bases at least.
Not much else happening ... just work and all.
Cheryl, sorry about your husband losing his job. Things are tough all over. So many people at our newspaper are leaving, it's going to be so different at work by the end of the year.
Well, have a good day.
I heard from my daughter last night. Nic's results came back. The special diet he was on did not work. His urine test came back abnormal meaning there is still active Neuroblastoma. Now we wait until next week when his doctor returns from vacation to find out what will be the next step in treatment.
Thank goodness I have had a busy morning with work. Makes the time go faster. I will be with Nic and Gracie on Friday...woohooo!!
The sun is shining and the temp is 33 degrees....heat wave!!!!
My cleaning fairy is here because I won't be available on Thursday. I am glad she could change her schedule around for me.
Dwayne's birthday is Thursday and we are going away for the day and night before we go to Iowa. I bought him something special I hope he likes it.
I best get back to work. Special prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d
connie- so sorry to hear nic's news- prayers still coming! and hugs!
cheryl- wow- i am bummed for you about tom's job....this whole economy thing is frightening--it keeps me at my job simply because i am grateful to have one! and scared about michael's worker's comp--when we finally lose it we will be struggling!
i did plasma tonite- my numbers were up! yay!!! iron was 41 and protein up to 7.4 (highest yet!) but-i had a palp episode during the "letting"--i didn't say anything to anyone...i'm ok--just very very tired and missing the heck outta my full strentgh coffee!!! i broke down and used a regular tea bag today at about 10 am--had to have some boost!
one of the gals i work with had to leave early-her mom (84) has been hospitalized for over a week- going home to hospice today...made me think of many of you on the board--this sandwich generation is hard!!!
well- sending hugs and prayers......
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
