What's New Tuesday?

Hi, Everybody.  I can't believe that I'm up early enough to start Tuesday's thread!  This is the third time within a week that I've gotten here early enough to do it!  I guess my sleep habits are disrupted.  We've got a lot going on here at the moment.

I wish each and everyone of you a grand Tuesday -- filled with lots of special moments.

Tell us -- what's new in your corner of the world?

Morning Cindy, OFFr's,

Seems like everyone is sleeping in today, wish I was.  My life right now, revolves around Dillinger (who is lying on his rug, right next to me in my computer room), so other than that, I have nothing too much to much to share, although this Saturday my son returns from Germany and he and his family, who have been living with my DIL's parents, will be returning to their own home for good.

Last night was not a good sleep night, as the buddy is now eating, courtesy of some medication, so now that he is eating, I guess he is going to be needing to poop and he woke me every hour or two to go outside, stand there, look around and than head back inside, just another part of his healing process, hopefully, this passes quickly, because I need sleep. . .

Well folks, have a great day!

Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

Good morning Cindy and everyone.
I can't believe I am the second person on here.  Everybody must be sleeping in today.  I wish I was. I just groaned when the alarm went off.  I would much rather be sleeping.
Can't say I have much to talk about.  Work was busy yesterday.  Had lots of phone calls.  This is the time of year that all the agencies have to do their annual reporting and they sent out a letter the other day to agencies that their report had not been turned in.   Most of these were done but they just forget to hit the submit button.  These are all done on the internet.
It will probably be the same way today.
Went up to my grandsons last night.  He didn't go to school yesterday because he was running temp, but looked like he felt a little better last night.  I didn't think he looked like he felt good Saturday at his basketball game.  My husband went up there last night to hook up a fax line for them.  We played a little WII.  It is kind of fun. Not sure whether I want to spend the money to get us one.  It would get us moving a little more.
That was interesting info about cinnamon and honey.  Thanks Nancy.   I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast and I always put cinnamon on it.  Guess I need to add a little honey.
Well, better go get ready for work.
Take care,
Mickey

Good morning.

I'll just gritch, whine and moan which is why I don't post much anymore.  Life just goes on....and so does my weight apparently.

I'm back to 154 after lopping off 16 lbs at 160.  I guess I've really gained 10 lbs... and that's not pretty.  Was going to give my size 14's away but maybe I better stash them in the closet.  I'm not sure how to get it off.... I don't exercise and won't so that's a given.

Work is work.  Please, everyone make their house payment and if you can't, call your mortgage company.  There are way too many foreclosures coming in.  I'm not complaining, mind you, it's the way I make my living but I see so many that came back in that might have been saved by a short sale or a workout.  I read in the paper one day that 56% of the people that DID get a workout had already defaulted.  Well, that's 44% that got to stay, I guess. But that's really sad.

I'd like to know how my real estate cohorts on here are faring in this market.  My REO agents aren't complaining but I'm wondering how the private sector is doing.

Found out yesterday that with the new company taking us over that I now get THREE weeks vacation!!!  I can take my birthday trip....if I've got the money. I've been hoarding days like crazy. I want to be gone for 14 days....

Nothing happening in my world other than work and eating.  But the good news is, I started the morning with a protein drink.  Now I'm headed for $4.

Everyone have a great day.

Janet

Hi Janet, I pretty much lurk here and have learned a lot from the folks on this Board. But your post compelled me to respond; I feel your pain and wish I could offer something in the way of help other than commisserating with you - I struggle every day. You had your surgery about 8 months after I did - mine was in March 2004 (about to celebrate 5 years - it's very hard to believe!) ... I hover in the mid-150s now, up from my lowest of 138 after surgery. I started at 360 the morning of my surgery.  It's not the number on the scale that has me so concerned; it's more the driving, nagging compulsion to resume old, very bad behaviors concerning the way I relate to - and consume - food.  I have gotten as high as 160, which scared the hell out of me. I struggle every day to move away from that number... my goal for my 5 year anniversary (March 8) was to reclaim 145 - but that looks very unlikely.  I wish I had the answers - I believe some of this is emotional, some is physical - our original "done over" systems post-surgery have now settled into routine that has allowed for some pouch stretching and some dialation of the stoma.  I am always, always hungry.  I just wanted to say hello and tel tell you, you're not alone. Take care, Maureen

Good Morning all,

Well, the axe did fall yesterday for my husband and all who he works with but about 20. 300 people will be out of a job come April 24th. He said people were sobbing and it was awful. On the news they said company was moving to Florida but in reality only about 10-20 moving there and they will be moving the plant or the main operation to Taiwan. Funny, how that didn't make the news. Anyway, we are lucky. Some of Tom's co-workers were husband and wife, both working at the company.
It is still quite a shock. After almost 12 years. We are also lucky that he got a couple months notice. Not out of the kindness of their hearts but due to a law that if they lay off 50 or more they have to give 2 months notice. That being said, the lay off paper work now says they can make your lay off day earlier if they choose...which I won't be surprised if they don't do that...

Our new dog has now decided to chew things up....hats, shoes, dog bed, rug...we give her chew bones and exercise her, and play....hopefully this is just a phase. She is just under a year. She has also decided to poop in the living room, while we are home and after we have let her out. Am hoping it was just because of the rain and that she will stop this. We caught her immediately after the pooping last night and scolded her. No spanking....just let her know how unhappy we were with her. She is very smart so hope she understood. We are loving her so much that these things are not deal breakers. Just need some patience and  training. Funny, the first whole week, she didn't do any of these things. She is such a sweetie. Old pup is liking her too.

Margo, hope you are not freezing at work...I would not be able to work, I would whine and complain and be such a baby....

Laureen, hope you get more sleep tonight, and that your sweet boy gets his potty times back to normal.

Have good Tuesday everybody...
Cheryl

Cheryl,
Too sad!!! I don't have words to express, but do know what you are feeling.
Tom found out the same day as his boss of 20 years was locking the doors forever. Kind of makes you sick to your stomach!!

Big hugs to you and your Tom

Annette,

Yep, sick to my stomach is a very good way to explain the feeling. I am sorry to hear about your Tom also. I would love to go home and just go to bed.

Hugs back at ya,
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

Sorry to hear about your husband's job situation, hope that something promising comes along.

As for the new puppy, someone when mine was a puppy, told me to go to the butcher and get a big joint bone, cook it in the oven for 45 minutes, let it cool and give it to the dog, especially if you find her chewing on something. . .  it worked like a charm, most of the time, the chewing stops right about a year old, hope that is the case.  As for the pooping in the house, perhaps next time she does that, you might crate her and that will teach her that is a no no.  Hard to do, but helps make them a better pet. . .

Hugs, Laureen
