Yeah!! Then ya got the old hippies like me.I send prayers, vibes, burn candles. I have Budda,God,Jesus, white witchcraft and "stuff",raised by one grand who practiced Voo Doo,straight from the islands, and the other grand who talked to spirits and buried things and honestly made potions, she was from Africa, the slaves were freed while she was a baby....you do not want to know how old I was before I found out not everyone talked to spirits...LOL.
I have also been baptised in 3 religions,I draw the line at satan, but then that's just me...

Dear Linda, Sounds like you've pretty much got all your bases covered!! Kind of like a "multi clause" insurance policy that covers all hazards. . . What a rich cultural background you have.

LOL! Karen,I have been disorganized in every other way,how could I possibly have an organized religion, besides, I have seen too much.
I find it very repulsive to say millions of people are damned because they don't believe a certain way. Now that my friend,is scary!

Just my humble opinion, but I'm one of those who literally has to "see to believe." I'm sure if I saw that burning bush in front of me I'd be quick to develop a profound belief. However, until then I tend to believe that my heaven is here on earth and I'd better make the most of each day. I sometimes envy those who have such a firm belief.

My cousin and I were raised the same way, in a very conservative (and stifling) religion. Her upbringing "took" while mine just left me with a lot of guilt trips. When we talk about it she says "She has to believe because to do elsewise would give her no reason to live."

I really don't believe that all of our evolution from a single cell somewhere back in time had no plan I'm just not sure how the plan started and evolved. I know I'm not in control (tho I still try to be) but I'm not sure who or what is. That from a control freak is disconcerting to say the least.

I go from trying to control the world to letting go of everything. Kind of like that metronome on top of a piano, swinging from side to side. . . . I do like to discuss these things, but it's hard to get "deep" enough when you aren't face to face. Perhaps someday we'll have a chance to meet in person and do that.  Have a great day Linda.

Karen, you are too cute, you professed belief in a higher power.I hear that's what it takes.....smile.I sometimes think that it is the faith, the act of believing, rather than WHOM you believe in.
I would love to talk to you one day. You seem to have a lot of postive energy, and I think that rocks!
I will leave you for now with this little quote, perhaps you have heard it before:
"Religion is for people afraid of going to hell, spirituality is for people who have been there".
I love talking to you...smile.
