Here it is. The MONDAY MORNING WHAT'S NEW?
The whole weekend was wonderful, outside of the news about Nina's son. I didn't post much about Saturday because my heart was heavy.
I went to be at 2AM Saturday morning. At 4:30AM my son calls. He had a pair of tickets to the Stars game (I had given them to him for Christmas) and he asked if I wanted to take my grandson to the game. He was still working and would be there for another 2 1/2 hours. The game was at 1PM. Of course I said yes. We got to see the Stars vs the Blackhawks. Four fights in the first period.
Saturday night was the Texas Message Board dinner. About 75 of us got together at a restaurant and had a good time.
Sunday was Sunday School and Church of course. Guest preacher - Dr Jimmie Nelson. He was an interim pastor at our Church 36 years ago. He is probably in his 70s. Very good preacher. Several times when he explained something in the Bible he stated that he knew our translation did not exactly say what the Nelsonian Bible said.
Then came the fun part of my day. Eddie had his first baseball tournament of the year. It was a fun tournament of a game called Netball. Seven man teams, the infield and 3 outfielders. The fence was 100 feet from home plate, with a net running above the fence from leftcenter to rightcenter. If you hit it over the fence and it did not hit the net, you were out. Off the net was in play. There were signs on the net, if you hit them you received the point value there. Each run your team scored was 1 point. The signs were valued from 3 to 13 points. Eddie was the first one to hit a sign. Also, while they played, they had to rotate positions. If you played 1st base the first inning, you went to 2nd base the 2nd inning, etc. The game was 45 minutes long and believe it or not, you were able to get 9 innings in. The team had a picnic going on during the games. A beautiful day, with fun for all.

Hi George and my OFF family:
Kinda sunny day but it's cold out there ...15 degrees, but at least it's not snowing. I have PT this morning, and I'm not looking forward to it. My body is not feeling good. I wrenched something in my back last night when I was reaching down to get something in the cabinet for dinner. Now my back hurts too ... not as bad as last night but still, it hurts. Maybe I'll stop by the chiropractor after PT ... he had some stuff called Biofreeze that helped my knee and I wanted to get some ... I can use my FSA to buy it. I love the FSA ... used it last week to buy an air cleaner and my allergy specific furnace filters ... it's good for allergy recommended products.
George, the baseball tournament sounds wonderful. So does the hockey game, and I'm not much of a hockey fan anymore. The only NHL game I ever saw was at the old Chicago Stadium ... bad neighborhood! I was a freshman in high school and one of my friend got tickets. I thought her father was taking us, which is what I told my parents. Her father took us, all right, dropped us off at the door and picked us up but we sat by ourselves in the last row of the mezzanine. We had to stand on our seats to see the game: Boston vs. Chicago. Phil Esposito, former Blackhawk, had a hat trick, Tony Esposito, his brother, was a rookie goalie that year, had a zillion saves, Dennis Hull had a hat trick, and the game end with the Hawks winning 4-3 and Bobby Orr and Keith Magnuson getting in a a knockdown, drag-out fight at center ice ... Orr dragging Magnuson all over the place ... blood, teeth all over the place. It was great! My friend was a Boston fan, and we had to keep telling her to shut up or we were going to get killed. It was so much fun, but we were so scared.
Not much else going on. Watched the Oscars last night in bed for most of the night as I tried to get the back to quiet down ... the knee was hurting too. Scooter snuggled next to me. I did love Hugh Jackman's opening number. I hadn't seen most of the movies this year ... the only nominated movie I've seen is Changeling (Angelina Jolie for best actress) and I saw that Saturday night at home. Maybe this weekend. I had wanted to see Slumdog Millionaire on Saturday but didn't get out because of the snowstorm. It looks interesting.
George, baseball season is not too far off. I'm excited ... I'm taking the week of Easter off and just staying home to watch games on TV. Too cold up north yet to sit outside, and besides, I'm not comfortable in stadiums ... too much climbing, stadium seats aren't always comfortable for me (although more now than they used to be ... I can fit in them!) And the prices are too expensive. I can get my MLB Extra Innings package on cable and watch all I want for less than the price of two games.
Well, have a good day. Stay warm. I need to get going.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning to everyone!
I didn't work yesterday - I am trying to get away from working 4 nights in a row - it can really drain you. And since I didn't have to be anywhere, I didn't even set the alarm clock - slept sooo good yesterday and when I got up got several things accomplished. First thing on the list was to work on getting all my tax stuff ready to take to the accountant. So that is my first trip for today.
I tried something new to eat, too. I bought frozen waffles - Kashi brand, toasted one and cooked some blueberries. It was syrupy and then had cool whip on top. Felt like I was at IHOP... LOL
I have several things on my list for today - water aerobics at 11 and a few other things.
George, I saw Nina's post on the lapband forum. My thoughts are with her. It must be so hard to lose a child. But she is a strong lady and she will grieve for her son in her own private way. We never know what trials will be in front of us each day, do we?
Have a good day...

Hi, I had a quiet sunday. I stayed home and cleaned house, laundry and whatever else needed done. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. It is mine to do what I want to do. I don't dress up or have to be anywhere. It is my day to regroup for the week. I am now ready to hit the week running. Mona

Hi All,
I had a great weekend. I am finally back to my old crazy self I think.
Saturday I had to go to training for Odysy of the Mind as I am a style judge for Kindergarden to 2nd grade. Ill have 14 sessions to judge. Will make for a long day on the 28th.
Gearing down to fly to Denver next Monday. I leave Tampa at 0635 am then to Dallas for 3 hours then get to Denver at 1215.
I might go down to Ft Lauderdale today to see my friend and my cousin. Ill leave around 1pm if I go.
Yesterday I got a new camcorder at Circuit City. It was a whopping 70.00. Now to learn how to use it.
Baseball training is starting around here. The Redskins train not to far from my house. We may go to a few of the games.
So have a great day. Talk to everyone on Wednesday.

Good morning George & all. Well I had an interesting weekend. We have had snow since Thursday when I got home. Sat. my son was driving our plow truck to do his driveway when one of the tires started to fall off. The snow was so bad no tow trucks were available to help.
He walked back to my house(1/2 mile) picked up my DH dodge ram & drove into Traverse City to pick up parts to fix it. Well he got that done about 10:00 Pm, plowed his driveway them mine again & went home.
On Sunday I got out a quad to move some of the 3 cords of wood we had delivered & got the quad stuck. We have had at least 2 ft. of snow in the last few days. He came over & helped me again. He is such a great young man!! (34 & married)
So today I get to move more wood. I hope it gets up to at least 25*. It is supposed to get up to the low 30's this week. I can only hope! Hope you all have a great day.
