How nice... thank you.  I it is a very special kind of pride to know that the entire world once again wishes America well with the election of Barack Obama... I don't know why I was so lucky to have been chosen for the tickets in the first place, let alone such great tickets and to have been able with David's help to traverse all of the bottlenecks and roadblocks to actually arrive at those seats in time to view it all. It was awesome!
Best wishes, Nancy

If you have a fast computer connection, try the gigapan thing.  It is SO cool.  I used it to find many celebrities in the crowd.... Denzel, oprah, Beyonce, JayZ, Maria Shriver, George Foreman, Robin Roberts, Christianne Ammanpour, David Gregory, Thom Hartmann, John Madden, Bruce Springsteen, Jesse Jackson... everyone bundled up to the max and shivering together.... we literally ran into Rev Al....  he is one sharp dressed man!  Even in the cold.

And behind Barack, on the platform, you can identify ALL the major players....  try the gigipan.org view of the Inauguration.  Really makes you feel like you were there.
Best wishes, Nancy

I have to say something. It bothers me when people blast someone for a post. What is not up for discussion on an open forum?? I am with you,if ya don't want to read it,keep tipping!
The name of this forum is over 50...so I would guess anything I wanted to say,as long as I was over 50 would be good, and or acceptable.
Shaking head...I like tending my own garden. I do believe in not attacking people...
Thank you, once again, for the virtual trip....smile.

Several confessions here.

I do not normally read political posts of any kind.

I am a Republican, but will not discuss politics with anyone.  I have my opinions and you have yours and we are both entitled to them.  (That is a generic you).

All that being said, thank you for the post.  It was a wonderful description of what was an historic day.  Glad you were able to be there, experience it and enjoy it.

Well, we are even then because I do not normally read Bible Verses of any kind.

I am a wicked heathen, who will not discuss religion with anyone.  I have my opinions and you have yours and we are both entitled to them.

Thanks for the reply to this post.  Yes it was a wonderful day.  An answer to my prayers.
Best wishes, Nancy

My husband and I watched breathlessly as President Elect became the President.  I also cheered when the Bushwacker got on the helicopter and got the hell out of dodge.  I am so happy you gave us such a wonderful description.   And already we are seeing positives of the new administration.  I am an Obama Mama.  Yep!

Oh, and I only gripped at the religious post in retailiation to negative posts being sent to Darlene.  I know, should kept my mouth shut, but this has, if you hadn't noticed, turned into Wed. Night Prayer meeting. Although, since I mentioned it, it has toned down some.  A little less is best, I think.

You know, I only just yesterday figured out who you are and went back to read some of your recent posts.  Nice to see you.  How are your daughter and granddaughter?  Last I really kept track of anything was several years ago and your daughter had just taken her back.  I admired your efforts back then to stay focused on the positive in that difficult situation.  Hope it worked out well for your granddaughter.

Feel free to email me if you don't want to discuss on the boards.  You can send my best to Darlene too if you would.  You know, we all have a bit of quirkyness to us, especially her.  This forum always ends up censuring its outliers.... it's kind of the high school version of Prayer Meeting.... strong opinions not always grounded in emotional maturity....  when it turns into something negative, it's time to leave, really leave, not just threaten to.

But curiosity and cabin fever bring me back and it's nice to see some of the friendly faces from the past.
Best wishes, Nancy
