Good morning everyone and Happy Friday
I hope everyone is doing great and feeling fantastic this morning. It's cold and windy outside. The wind is howling and I'm ready for spring, as I know you all are too!
Yesterday, I went to a support group in an effort to gather more information about WLS. Most of the people there have not had surgery yet. A few of them had, and it was wonderful hearing about their experiences and successes. Although one person in the group had complications and ended up having to be converted to open gastric bypass, she said she has lost 80 pounds and would do it all over again if given a choice.
The more I learn, the better informed I'll be. My brain is like a sponge now, soaking up all the knowledge - lol
Hey quick question to you beautiful ladies out there, did you wear make-up on the day of your surgery? Just wondering how long it will take before you can shower and feeling somewhat normal.
Have a great Friday!

Hi, Rosey, I did my hair and makeup. I had a lapband. Operation was 4:30 got up in my room at 11 - that's when I got up for first time and visited the ladies room. The first time up, as with any abdominal and thereabouts surgrey, hurts a bit. Showered the next day - no baths.
I was feeling 90% by day three-four.

The more informed you are the calmer you will be.. I had to laugh about the make up. I was watching "A Baby Story" this morning as I got ready for work and the mom was decked out like she was going to the prom as she went in for her C-section.. I am sure I went in clean faced, and honestly can't remember when my first shower was..

LOL - funny comment about being decked out like she was going to a prom - lol - don't we wish...those were such fun days - lol
I figured no make up as well for me too. I was just curious about it. Hey, I just realized this is the first time I said something associating me with actually having the surgery - WOW! Positive baby step for me!

Happy Friday to you, too, Linda S. I'm reading a book that said get a long spoon because you won't be able to reach your butt to wipe it - lol - it's funny you said that about the back/butt scratcher - lol
Hugs back to you, too, Jacki. I still have a ways to go before I get my bag packed, I'm just starting this journey, so it'll be at least 7-9 months yet.
