OT: My 4-legged son needs your positive vibes. .

I had to exit my support group meeting earlier this evening, because my roommate called to say that something was terribly wrong with Dillinger, my sweet 12 yo Rottie, and so I rushed home, we had to wrap him in a comforter and half drag, carry him out of my house to rush him to the vet, where I was told he was critical, and based on the fact that they found blood in his abdomen, I then had to transport him to Penn State Vet Hospital, where he will be undergoing surgery sometime in the morning to discover why he has blood in his abdomen.  Before we left he was stable and I saw him, while subdued, he seemed much more alert than when transporting him and while I know that he has lived the majority of his life already, based on his spirit, I chose for them to pursue the surgical route and I may have some hard choices to make later today, I pray that is not the case, but I just had to try, he tried to get up and greet me when I got home, but he fell down, with his little stumpy wagging that he was happy to see me and that, to me, is not the sign of an animal that is ready to be put down, so please put your thoughts in a direction that gives us more time to spend loving one another.  I've never had a dog from beginning to end before and my heart is aching and my bed will be empty for the first time in over 11 years. . .  Thanks for your support. . .

Dear Laureen:

I have had to say goodbye to a number of my furry babies...some that had been with me the full spectrum of their lifetimes... and I do understand.  Our pets own a piece of our hearts and no one can say anything about your decision regardless what it may be.

I do beleive that animals, being living creatures, are all part of our love and life energy.  You have my prayers and my most healing energy..have courage and remember that he KNOWS your love. *hugs*

laureen...the others have expressed so well what i am thinking. you and dil are in my prayers and will be on my mind today.

i know that with the passing of my trinity , oct 2007 while i was in texas with the sistas, i have to think that the hardest part for me was notbeing here to say goodbye, and knowing that my michael was alone to bear the burden...yet knowing that trin was NOT alone she had michael at least...every time i think of her i tear up and i have to think it is that unresolved biz of not being here......
sorry...didn't mean to make this about me or my trin...

you and dillinger are in my prayers......love to you.........

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
