It's Thursday now.... So, what's new with you?

It's been a while since I started this.

So far a decent evening for me.  A little busier than normal.  I normally take 6 to 8 calls a night (8 hours).  I have been here 3 hours now and have already taken 14 calls.  But, I will survive.

I will edit later for some more stuff.

Everything below here I typed shortly after I did the original post, but my computer crashed and erased everything I had added.  So let me try this again.

Carla - Are you out of energy yet?  If not, you can always wash my car.

Pat R - Don't get discouraged.  Turn to us for support.  That is what it is all about.  It is a good start that you are admitting the problem is you and your decisions.

Susan - Things will be fine here.  I am confident of that.  We just all need to do our part to make it fine.

Mickey - I went through that no pay thing for 6 weeks when I was in the military in 1975.  Congress did not pass the fiscal budget, so we did not get paid.  Fortunately I had a great bank.  They credited every military account with the amount of money that was normally deposited on military pay day.  That is one of the reasons I am still with that bank.

Annette - Hope the car gets going soon.

Floyd - That's sweet of you to do the vow renewal thing.  Not something I would volunteer to do, but if she asked, I know I would do it.

Eileen - I just got Grisham's new book.  Have to put aside some time to read it.

Connie - Congrats to Dewayne's mom.  Any statewide recognition is a great honor.

Aime - All you have to do is take control yourself and you can do it.

Laureen - Was the weather good enough to go to support group?  Mary and I had not been to a structured support group in a while because of the day our hospital has their's.  An OH Leader in the area started having one on the second Sunday of every month.  We went last month and were thoroughly impressed.

Nancy - What kind of puppy did you get?

Karen C. - Keep up the great attitude

Julia - You are right, all families have issues.  And we can overcome these.

Now, talk amongst yourselves.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Well here I sit at 2:15 AM..wide awake.

On Tuesday I had a series of root canals done..oh joy! And, some may even recall that I opted for sedation, wimp that I am.

JB was called to the dentist's office to pick me up at 4 pm. He drove to the pharmacy for my pain meds and then took me home. I remember NOTHING.

I was in bed...apparently..at 4pm and did NOT wake up til 10 am Wednesday morning...went for a piddle and went back top bed...slept til 1pm...got up...JB made me eat some probiotic yogurt and take an antibiotic that they'd ordered for me but I refused pain meds.

My jaw muscles are sore....I say from them keeping my mouth open for hours, cleaning out the abcess and killing the roots...JB says my jaws ache from INACTIVITY...oh is he gonna pay for that!...later!

I was back in bed, too sleepy to keep my eyes open, at 4pm and slept til 8 pm..and so here I sit..wide awake.

Thursday will be spent resting (yes, I'm gonna milk this a while...hehehe)...and I have to make more beef & barley soup for the week.  I have to get back to eating again.  I had absolutely nothing on Tuesday due to the surgery and my subsequent sleep-fest, and had a bit of yogurt and a small dish of Red River cereal tonight.

It's still raining and raining and I feel cold...a Matrix hot choclate protein drink might hit the spot right now then off to bed again....can't say I don't try! *s*

Good morning ~

George - the colorful update was beautiful in every way. Thank you.

The new digital thermostat refuses to respond to my fingers. Tom programed the heat to go up or down to suit my normal work schedule. This week my hours have been much different so I have wanted more heat during the day. Apparently, the screen doesn't respond to frigid fingers. Mine are always like icicles
.
My grandson Travis has a new girlfriend. Her father called Travis and my daughter to go talk with him. In June, the young lady turns 15 years old. In her culture that is a day of celebration and a sort of "coming out" ball. Sorry, I cannot recall the Spanish word. They have asked Travis to be her escort for the evening. That means learning some special dances and various other rituals. I would love to see my handsome grand all decked out in a Tux and dancing in a ballroom. What an honer for him to be chosen for this. Yup, I'm a proud, bragging grandma.

Kisses

Brrrr, it's cold and snowy here this morning.

A great big thank you to all of you for your responses to my post yesterday....I had a really good day, and I stuck to the program faithfully....1100 calories, 27 gm. fat, 99.6 gm. protein......I had to weigh in this morning and am down 1 1/2 lbs....so it does work -- YES!
Yes, George, admitting the problem was mine alone was difficult, and we all need to take ownership of that every day.
It was so encouraging to read all your messages and it sure helped me to stay on track.....that's what this forum is all about .....  people helping people.  Again, bless you all for lifting me up.

Today is a new day and I will do my best.......

Connie,
After reading about this event, I am glad I don't have to foot the bill. It does sound exciting though.  Did you get pictures of Kyleigh when she attended?

Kisses
