You are are amazing!  I can't believe reading about so many wonderful things that I can't wait to do, like being able to cross my legs, trim my toenails without being all winded from all the excess in my midruff, and so many other things.  This forum is awesome.  Thanks to the many of you who have shared your experiences and success stories!  I can't wait.

Rosey, you will find the list goes on and on.  And as you journey down this path there are going to be so many things that you will accomplish that pre WLS you never attempted or even gave a second thought.  November 2008 I went on my very first backpacking adventure with my husband.  We hiked into the Gila Wilderness located in New Mexico, spent three days, two nights and had the time of our lives.  Pre WLS there is no way in the world that I would have even given such an adventure a second glance.  Of equal excitement was the day the attendant at my local car wash told me that I looked "hot"! Health wise, my WOW moment was when my oncologist told me that since dropping over 100 pounds my odds of having cancer again (I've done that battle two times) had greatly decreased!  Praise God, life is such a gift!

Failure is only a fact when you give up. Everyone gets knocked down, the question is: Will you get back up?

WOW, Katherine, that's fantastic!  You sound like you are having the time of your life.  Praise God is right.  I feel like He is leading me.  I prayed that if it's meant to be for me, it will.  Wthin that time, I rec'd encouraging news from my insurance company, and I'll continue to go from here.

May God continue to give you good health.  By the way, you remind me of Patsy Ramsey in your photo.  You are very pretty!

Katherine, I had to come back and comment some more after I saw your pictures and read your weight loss journey!  AMAZING!  You and Charlie make a BEAUTIFUL couple.  You have been blessed with a wonderful husband.  I hope you continue to enjoy good health and your new hiking adventures!

I can't believe how quickly the weight drops off.  My gosh.  I'm so encouraged from reading about the success.  I truly hope that I can share my success story here too!

Yes Rosie, you will be amazed at the changes after a 100 pound loss. I'm sitting at the computer with my legs crossed right now! This summer I climbed down a ladder into a submarine- seems a small feat, but I was thrilled! People that I have known WELL but haven't seen me for over a year actually don't recognize me. Of course the health benefits are the best part. I have decreased my odds of having my cancer return too. I do need to keep on my toes though because I still have old habits under the surface. They peek out now and then, so I can never truly let down my guard. Welcome to the OFF forum!

Thanks for the nice welcome!  It's great to be here.  Everyone is so nice and supportive.  I'm looking forward to being able to post about some positive journey adventures of my own one day.

Yes Rosey, there is a Santa Claus for us over 50, it's called wls!  The things I can do now amazes me, my husband, and my adult children.  I run around the yard playing with my grandsons.  In July I went to Disney World with my sister and her family (My DH had no interest in going).  Keeping up with my sister is something most people can't do - I DID IT!  During the holidays I went with my sister and niece to London - walked and walked.  We have a two-story home - before wls I'd go down in the morning and up at night.  Now, I'm up and down several times a day.  Your turn will come.  Good luck, Debbie

Thank you Cajun Angel.  The more I read, the more enthused I become.  I still have a lot more reading and learning to do.  I move up my stairs like a slug, but I have been walking in the treadmill now for two weeks, in an effort to get some much-needed exercise.

LOL - I like your statement *Santa Claus for us over 50* too funny!  I'm glad so many of you are enjoying life the way it should be lived.  I'm ready to join the club in the journey!

Hi Rosey!   My list gets bigger every single day! I am 60 years old but my WLS is making me younger and better every day! Good luck to you and I hope to see a lot of you on the board.
