Good Morning, my Off family...

I'm up, headed back to work.  Good thing I don't double back very often.  I'm beat, after just 4 hours of sleep.  But the overtime last evening will sure look good in the paycheck!

Nothing much planned for today except for work.  I'll read all the news when I get home.

Everyone have a great day.

Candy

Good morning Candy and all you other OFFers!

It has been a great night for me.  It was a long weekend because of my work Friday night and Saturday morning (I was up for almost 24 consecutive hours).  Saturday night I slept from 2AM until 7:30, then got up for Sunday School and Church.  We got home from Church and I got on the net for an hour or so.  Then I laid down to take a nap at 2:30.  I woke up at 7:30.  So, this shift has been a very wide awake one for me.

I was able to read my Saturday and Sunday papers and check out some fantasy baseball stuff.

By the way, I think someone here might have recommended a book to me.  The Shack.  If it wasn't here, let me encourage everyone to read it.  Awesome!  It is Christian fiction.  Or is it?  A very good read, easy flowing.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning Candy and everyone.....

Today will be a good day....I don't have to work as it is a paid holiday. I have a few calls to make and an errand to run. The rest of the day will be restful and relaxing.

Kyleigh (granddaughter) is doing well at her new school. I hope this is what she needs to help turn things around for herself. She is such a good girl. She just has to make it through this.

Nic (grandson) is so excited...he is about to get his car primed and painted. It is all coming together now. I can't wait to get down there at the end of the month so he can show me his car!!

I hope everyone here has a good day. Prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

Good morning everyone.  I have an appointment for the informative WLS meeting tomorrow, and I have just scheduled an appointment for consult with the surgeon on May 26th (my birthday) LOL what a fantastic omen.  I believe God is leading me in this direction.

When I first started my research, I honestly did not think my insurance would cover.  It took them a couple of weeks, but then I was surprised with great news - if I meet criteria - yes, it's covered.  Talked with my PCP, and she is supporting me on whatever decision I make.

I'm psyched and ready for the journey to begin.  If anyone has any reading material recommendations or any suggestions of what I should be doing to prepare, I'm all ears.

This seems like such a nice group of people.  Have a great Monday!  You all look fantastic!  Gosh, I can't wait.

  Happiness to all

Good morning Candy and Friends.

This afternoon George has an appt with the cardiologist.  Originally he was told to go for a follow up in 2 weeks.  He called to make the appt and was told it would be 4 - 6 weeks before they could squeeze him in, or they had an opening for Monday at 3:00.

Our weekend with Ethan was fantastic!  I am now known as Awesome Grandma 'cause I cooked Sponge Bob Squarepants mac and cheese for him.  Also, I made glazed carrots with just a touch of honey which he thought was "awesome".  I told him they were made with a secret ingredient.  He promised not to tell grandpa or daddy our secret.

Sat. we went to a parade and met up with a bunch of GIII's friends, they all knew a couple of people in the parade, so we were bombarded with "throws" (beads, cups, footballs, etc.).  I got Valentine's kisses from Ethan and the 3 y/o son of GIII's friend and kisses from the big boys too!  After the parade, George and Ethan took an hour and a half nap.

Sun. we took Ethan to church with us, then MacDonald's for breakfast and for a walk on the levee.  Who'd have thought three of us could eat off one breakfast platter.  Ethan had the biscuit, George eat the pancakes, and I had the egg and sausage.  As much as I love my grandson, he wears me out!  When he and Danny left yesterday, George and I took a nap.  Even with recuperating from the flu, Ethan is still a ball of energy.  This coming weekend, we're suppose have the other crew in (daughter, SIL, and Gabe).

Have a great day!

Morning Candy and my fellow OFFer's

Slow going here on the board today. What's Up????   It's almost 10:00 here and there's only 4 posts??

I'm about to disconnect my computer to move my desk and "world" into the once spare bedroom. It's obvious that we aren't gonig to be getting visitors anytime soon, what with the economy. No one is traveling, so might as well put that room to good use.
By the end of the day it will be the official Saint Bella office/warehouse. ALL of the new products we took to my DIL's store sold out by the end of Saturday. Now it's time to get serious, I guess!!!  So, I have some things to order online and then it's lights out for a bit.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today, whether or not you have the day off or you're working!

See you later, manybe not till tomorrow!

Susan

Good Morning Candy Girl!

I just love that name. I just wore myself out with a lengthy 4 yr anniversary post. I won't repeat it here. I'm just filled with gratitude today. Feb 16, 2005, is almost more important to me than my real birthday! My mom loaned me the money for this surgery. I told her that she gave birth to me twice. I really believe that. Thank you Mom wherever you are!

Candy, you are one of those marvelous bonuses of this surgery. We would have never met and my life would be much less without having had the priviledge of your friendship.  Meeting so many of the wonderful people from this forum has enriched my life so. Thank you all for being here!

Hi Candy and my OFF family:

Where is everyone this morning ... or now it's officially afternoon. I was up at 8 (crack of dawn for me) so I could get ready for PT. Ah, he worked me over again. I guess that's what therapists do. My hammies and quads are weak, my balance is getting better, but still not great. At least I've dropped the 7 pounds of fluid I had last weak in my legs. I still wish I knew the reasons I keep retaining this fluid on and off. I never had this problem before knee surgery (except when I was obese). My friend Mary Kay, who has heart problems, seems to think it's vascular; my friend Rox, the nurse, isn't as much of an alarmist and says as long as I don't overuse the diuretics, it should be OK, but she's curious why too ... one of her kayaker friends has a similar undiagnosed problem.

I'm really tired this morning. Didn't sleep all that well ... back was bothering me. Maybe I overdid it with the clamshell exercises (you lie on your side and open your knees like a clamshell with this band around your knees ... it's supposed to strenghten your hips). Anyway, I did a bunch of those again this morning and my butt hurts a lot. Like I said, he worked me over. Plus, it was really warm in the gym (it was sunny in there, and the heat was turned up ... it was very dry, too).

Not much else going on here. Work, of course, tonight ... we don't get this holiday off.

Well, have a good day.
