Welcome Val - this is a great board for info and support. I was banded and I am now off my diabetes meds and hypertension meds. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself - ranks right up there with my remote start for my car ! LOL I hate being cold and the remote start for the car is one way I can stay warm.

I have lost slowly, and have had two fills. I am very pleased with the results and want to see another 60 pounds gone in the next 6 months. Got my fingers crossed.

Hi Val,
I had the lapband for over 2 years before I had to have it out in emergency surgery. Check out my profile... With the band I still had type 2 diabetes. I had a revision to RNY in September and left the hospital off of all diabetes meds. I just love my RNY! Good luck to you!
