TGIF!!! What's New
Well it's Friday and I have my b/g/f coming home with me today and we are going to be hanging out with some other g/f's, going to see "He's Not That Into You" and also will be doing some shopping for this old house of mine, as construction is nearing completion for phase 1 and now I need furnishings for the new sunroom, not to mention I need to put 2nd coat of paint in my new bedroom. It's all coming together nicely now.
Anyway, I got to get moving so I can go to work here, looking forward to having Monday off and one extra day to get things done.
Hope you all are having a good day. Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
Hugs, Laureen

The cats are slowly adjusting to being a family of seven. They have begun to take turns sitting on Tom's lap which makes him feel better. Joey always sat with his paws wrapped around Tom's neck but the others haven't learned how to do that yet.
I have been crocheting scarves. One of the dollar stores has a supply of fancy yarns which would cost a small fortune in a yarn store. They don't carry enough in the same dye lot to make anything big, but perfect for a scarf.

A few hours and it will be the week end. Yay

Hi Nettie,
Funny, but your stories of the furbrats make me wish I were not allergic to cats, as they are so entertaining, sort of like having perpetual puppies around. . .
Enjoy your crocheting and weekend and I am happy to hear that Tom is feeling the love of the rest of your feline brood.

Dear Margo,
No offense taken and I see what you're saying regarding the picture, unfortunately I have so little time to play with the computer stuff these days and when I tried to upload that picture, which is a great one of me, it had to be downsized, etc and I guess it distorted the photo in the process, which makes me sad, because I truly like that picture of me and so do my friends who can see it in the full size version. . .
As for Dillinger, I took him to the vet last week and they said, he seems pretty healthy for an 80+ male dog and that I need to look at him and realize that some days will be better than others now, they gave me Rimdal (sp?) for his aches and pains and it does seem to be helping him, I also think all the construction has him stressed out, with the comings and goings and the noise factor, not to mention, as I told my friend who is doing the construction this morning, his backyard has been reduced to a mine field because of all the stuff they need to clean up back there, so I think once the construction is done, he will be fine, in the meantime, I just have to make sure he has extra loving when I am home with him, which lately, has not been a whole lot due to the cir****tances of all that is happening in my life lately, work hours, grandkids home, etc. . . I feel sooo guilty about him, but I will try to spend extra time with him this weekend since it is a long one, though I do have lots to fit in Thanks for asking and thanks for the extra hugs.
The remodeling project has felt as though it will never be done, but the truth is I have been truly blessed with the friendship of Frank, who is someone I dated for about 2 years, but due to his workaholic nature our relationship became one of just friends. He has made this project one in which you would believe he was working on his very own home and considering the original price he gave me, which is a fraction of what a project like this should cost, and whi*****ludes the new addition, as well as turning my existing bedroom into a master bathroom when this stage of the project is completed, his attention to every detail has been incredible, he has not cheaped out on anything and the things we added along the way, he did so with me and my budget in mind, as well as knowing that I will be house poor for the next few years as I pay this off and what we have upgraded are structural things that to do now is a sound investment and cost efficient in the long run, not to mention the main structure of the home should not cost me anything more until I have paid this project off. So yes, it is wonderful and exciting to know that my home is now becoming what I envisioned in my head for the last 4 years.
Well enjoy your DAR luncheon and the weekend!
Hugs, Laureen

Laureen, sounds like you're up for a wonderful weekend with your friend. We're famous here for starting projects and never really finishing them. I'm envious of your redecorating coming together!
Today I'm throwing Gary a surprise 50th birthday party at his office. I hope he's surprised, and if he isn't, well he'd better ACT surprised!!
Last night we had a guest speaker at our support group meeting. She is a psychologist who actually specializes in weight issues. Hard person to find, and she's a gem! I tried really hard to get the word out that she was coming and it payed off. The room was packed to the gills. It was a great evening.
Well, I'd better get going if I'm going to keep to the schedule today. Pick up the sandwich platter at Subway (7-foot long sandwiches, all the fixin's, on a platter for $37!) then the cake "Oh no He's 5-0!" and the black balloons. Then to his office to unload and hide my car so he doesn't see it when he comes in. Camera is at the ready. MAYBE there will be pics to download???? You know me.
Susan
Susan,
I love your take on the surprise party and how he had better act surprised. . . I'll bet it turns out well, funny thing about how stressful those sort of parties can be. . .
Yup, it will be fun to see this project completed and now trying to decorate it on a shoestring budget will be the fun part. . .
Enjoy your party! I'll look forward to hearing how it turned out.
Hugs, Laureen
