What's New, THURSDAY!

Well, hello, family!

I have been unable to get online since Saturday morning...our phone line has been down.  It seems that there is a break on the buried phone cable on the next block and some of us have been without phone/internet service all this time. But I am back!

My week has been very busy and today I am renewing my driver's licence and also making an appointment to get my health card renewed.

I've also been searching for crochet cotton. I'd crocheted Mother a double bed sized afghan for Christmas in varigated pinks and white with a white ruffle.  It took me over a month (it was all single stitch) and I'd worked on it daily. I'd intended to also make matching pillow cases..white linen cases with the varigated crochet edging.  I finally found the right finer crochet cotton to do the pillow edging so that's my next project.

In the meantime, I had a huge ball of white and beige cotton yarn and have ben crocheting dishcloths just to use it up.  Suddenly everyone is asking for dishcloths...I have nine made so far...now I need more cotton yarn.

I made another pot of beef & barley soup and took some up to Mother along with half a loaf of what our family always called Dutch Bread, alot of reading material and a newq mattress protector for her new bed.  The "Dutch Bread* (JB is from Holland)  is made with honey and brown sugar (and lots of cinnamon, allspice & nutmeg) so I'm avoiding it.  The honey came from my next door neighbour who lives in the woods  beside our place..they have their own bees.  Next time, I will try it with splenda.

Today I have a consult with a dental specialist about my impending root canal ...I'm such a weenie about dental work.

From there, I intend to go to the Dutch Import store where I get our Dutch cheeses and meats to buy one of their  wonderful spiced beef roulanden...they are pricey, however, there's never any waste on them at all and I get three or four meals from each one. I will also get a half wheel of Dutch Gouda cheese..spiced with caroway seeds..my kids call it "k'nittle cheese"..a Dutch slang for "cheese with little bits in it"....but they've enjoyed it since they were babies.

Well, I'm off to bed..yup, back on my irregular sleep cycles again.

Play nice! *s*

beautiful day or will be when sun comes up it is 49 riaht now and is suppose be  60 today....we survived some terrible thunderstorms and tornado threats.. probably a good 2 inches more of rain,,,i wonder if we will have the rain this spring like we did last year, hopefully not quite as much, all our camping sites and parks were all under water. Bull Shoals Lake was 50 feet above flood all spring and summer and most of the fall. wasnt until about Sept that it started going down....

Hey if anyone has trouble getting in all their protein or cant stand protine  shakes,,,got a new way you can get some of your protein in,,,,Protein Souffle you will have to eat all 4 of the small souffles in a day to get 30 grams of protein but is great especially for newbies maybe is a nice soft food that is warm and comforting,....if any one wants it i will post it online here, it is really good and allows for a lot of variety too,.

I am working today in the greenhouse have to get seeds planted that will be transplanted into the garden...we are making a big veggie garden this year too cant wait...if anyone has any good hot salsa reciepes i would love to have it,...

hope you have a wonderful sunny (in your heart) day

Good Morning Nancy and all my OFF Family,
Well we are expecting showers and 75 degrees today!  Warm and wet and of course nobody wants to look at houses in the rain!  But I have desk duty today and the agent on duty has to be in the office for the most part.
Oh well!!!

Dh and I are looking for a really good mattress for us.  We went out yesterday and look a bit.  The best deal we have found so far is a Serta at Sam's.  I think we will go back and get it.  My old one is just plain wore out! I ache everyday when I get out of bed.

DH is still out of work, so things are tight here. Instead of new jobs it seems that all the old jobs are going away and there are more and more being laid off.  We hear that he is going to be called back to the construction job.  It pays good but it is a little much for a 59 almost 60 year old that has had a massive heart attack.  Although he does pretty good I am still concerned.  I keep praying that he will find something that is not quite so strenuous.

I hope that each of you are in good health and fortune is smiling upon you.  You are all in my prayers.

Hugs,

Nancy B:
There is "sugar free" honey available.....I saw it at Wal Mart, so probably other groceries have it too.  The bread sounds wonderful, but I am trying to stay away from bread too.   The cheese sounds great too.

Good morning Nancy and all.

Left work early to get some sleep.  Eddie (grandson) has the citywide spelling bee this morning.  On my way there.  Let you know how he does later.

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Yey! I'm back online. Computer tech guy worked on my computer yesterday for an hour, took off all the nasties and put a malware remover on my 'puter ... said it was like taking a gun to a knife fight. Now with the virus checker, spyware removal and the malware removal, I should be protected ... I hope! I don't even download that much ... the last thing I downloaded were the updates to my tax program.

It's foggy here this morning but 47 degrees, but that's supposed to fall during the day. I got up at 7 a.m. because I have an eye doctor appointment at 9:30, then PT at 11. Therapist gave me a lecture about working on my balance without touching the counter, so I worked on that yesterday ... almost fell a couple of times, but I did what I was told. I have no balance, that's why I always fall.

Got my protein delivery from Netrition ... a big jug of Nectar Cappucino Latte ... I had a taste of it from Baseball Mom Mary and it does taste kinda like AchievOne Cappucino. I may add some real coffee because I want my caffeine in it (it's decaf). But it's not too bad. Better than some other alternatives. Plus I got some chocolate protein that I thought was a big tub but wound up being packets ... like one scoop packets ... oh well, I'll use that for my protein balls. I should read the descriptions better. I ordered these last Friday at work and was so tired I didn't look at the little print very well ... tells me I need new glasses badly! I haven't had my eyes checked in three years because I haven't been able to afford it (our old insurance was $200 reimbursement, but you had to put it out first ... it's different now, plus I have an HSA to use to pay for it).

Well, I should get going and get ready. I have tomorrow off from appointments ... how nice that will be!

Good morning Nancy and all,

I have been reading some days but not posting. It is either from not much happening or too much going on, not sure which one is the cause.

Sometimes I tend to isolate but it passes eventually. My shrink again suggested antidepressants. I suggested what he could do with them. I lived in that hazy Effexor fog for 10 years - nope - won't do that again.

Kisses
