What are we eating & What's eating us-Tuesday

I am up and thought that I would just start the thread. I sure hope that Linda feels better and can soon start it. It is just not the same without her smiling face greeting us in the morning.

This morning is going to be kind of busy. Then thankfully it is quiet here while Bill is at work. I have to work on Lay Speaker school things this afternoon. I worked for hours last night and the stupid 'puter didn't save it like I was telling it to. Oh well, I guess I need more of it! I got it anyway! ha ha

Food for today is going to be alright. I am back on track and doing well. I am fighting with the same 3-5 pounds by losing then gaining and the mess starts all over again. I know that I am not alone and there is a lot of my OFF family that do the same. It is so frustrating!

B: sf oatmeal with 1/4 c of sunflower kernels
S: sf applesauce
L: deli turkey with cheese
S: low carb slim fast shake
D: fish of some kind and steamed veggies
S: sf pudding-either rice or banana fudge

That is what Harpo and I are eating today. I didn't ask Harpo's opinion since he gripes at most everything and talks back something terrible with his sounds. Oh well, he must be like me-always an opinion of some sort.

Have a great day and I am sending my ever the same love and huge hugs to all. Along with prayers and/or special thoughts.

Did pretty good yesterday on sticking to smaller portions and cutting out bread products....

B - Carb Master yogurt/kashi/banana
L - 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup white bean/turkey
sausage soup (that should fini**** up)
S - carb master yogurt
D - Shrimp Creole
S - protein ice cream

I did 45 minutes and 6.5 miles on the bike yesterday...
not weighing myself until Sunday....

The hardest time of day is from 4 p.m. on.....wanting to graze....need to find something to do to get my mind off
eating during that time...

Have a wonderful day - the sun is shining here and it's supposed to get up to 62 deg.

Pat, I am so glad that things are going well for you. I know that the carb monster had me too and I think that I finally got him to leave. Now I have to lock the doors to make sure that he doesn't get back in.

It was nice to talk to you on Sunday night. We are going to have to do that again. I miss our chats. It is nice to get caught up.

Where do you buy the carb master yogurt and is it good? I haven't seen it here. I should maybe ask Wal Mart about it since I heard that if you ask for something special they will try to get it in. I never like yogurt until after I had the wl surgery. It is so true that your tastes change after you have it.

Have a good one, dear!

Hi Brenda, it was good to talk with you too.....Sometimes I get so lonely, I just have to talk to someone and you were the "Lucky" person....LOL

The carb master yogurt is from Kroger....Wal mart doesn't carry it because it is Kroger Brand.  They've been having it on sale 10 for $4.....how much cheaper can you get!  It has 12 gm. of protein in it, only 80 calories and 1.5 gm fat.....lots of yummy flavors too.
I just had a snack....5 whole wheat saltines and a slice of low fat cheese.....couldn't make it to lunch for some reason.......head hunger, I think!

Been on the bike this morning for 24 minutes and did 3.5 miles.....will do another session this afternoon.  I like breaking it up, that way it doesn't make my left knee hurt so much.....and yes it is a replaced knee and only hurts a little when I bike too hard.

Have two piano students this afternoon and nothing else going on.   Trying to finish a book so I can start on our book club selection, The Secret Life by Lynn York.  I have club this time (March 1st) and trying to figure out a low fat dessert...

Have a great day, Brenda

You know, they use to have a Kroger in LaPorte, which is about 30-45 minutes away from here. I should try and find out if they still have it there. It would be worth a trip there for some of the Carb Master yogurt. Thanks a lot. It would be added protein if I mixed some of the Kashi in it too. I love the crunch. Hmmmmmmmmm......wonder what it means when you like to crunch your food? I use to know but I forgot now.

Hi, Connie, I just wanted to tell you that your menu looks good too. I do so love taco salad. It is just plain old yummy if you ask me.

Have a good day, sweetie, and know that you are loved.

Brenda,

I'm going to visit my mom today and tonight I have a meeting of my writer's group.  We always have a variety of treats to eat at these meetings, so I made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies with Splenda and SF chocolate chips to take with me.  I'm not going to tell anybody that these are "diet" cookies.

I have not been hungry for the past few days, but will try to eat:

B: peanut butter banana protein shake
S: iced skinny latte
L: Shelly's potato-less pancakes, roasted edamame salad
S: yogurt
D: coconut shrimp, red pepper & cauliflower salad
S: a cookie

Hi, Jean. It is great that you have your gathering and can take cookies for you. It is important at times not for us to look inconspicuous when we are out. If others are eating cookies and such. I love the sf cookies~they are really good and you can't tell the difference if you ask me.

Can you tell me how you make the roasted edamame salad? I heard they are really good but I have never tried them. I wonder if Bill would like them? He surprises me at times and enjoys things that I really thought that he wouldn't like. Men are funny like that at times.

Brenda,

I used Alton Brown's recipe.  Here's a link:

My husband loves edamame so I didn't have to force it on him!
