I am very happy this morning.....had my 2nd support group meeting last evening and had 8 people!! Two were from the first meeting and the other six were brand new people.....we had a fantastic discussion on food issues and lots of good input....two newbies have had their surgery five or more years ago and we had a pre-op who is having VS tomorrow. Nobody wanted to leave and we hugged and talked all the way to the parking lot.
Meeting my DS for breakfast this morning, have a load of laundry going, and two piano students this afternoon, so that's my day.
Did 40 minutes on the bike yesterday for a total of 5.2 miles......hurrah!

We're having some light snow but the sun is trying to peek through the clouds. Really doesn't look too bad. Too early to be up considering I didn't get to bed til after 1. Not used to this routine yet.
Work yesterday wasn't too bad. I did the two business pages and then redid them two times. Couldn't get things to fit, then forgot a photo and had to squeeze it in on the second page. Trying to get the stocks recap (it used to be a whole page, now it's a little square) is a trick. Everyone was coming by and welcoming me back. The one problem was my lump-sum payment check. Every year we get part of our cost of living adjustment in a lump sum check. Well, because I was not working on Friday when it was distributed, I didn't get mine. I was told I would get it when I returned. So I went to HR yesterday and asked for my check. Wilma, the HR assistant, asked our HR administrator about it. She said she had to put in a request for it and I would get it as soon as they could get it out. She joked about it and said, "You'll get your $10 sometime in April." The $10 probably isn't much of a joke; our COLA increase is usually about 2 or 3 percent, if that. I was expecting to cash that check today; now I can't pay some bills until Thursday, when I get paid.
PetsMart was very nice when I returned the smelly cat litter (it was supposed to fragrance free; it wasn't, almost caused an asthma attack). They gave two bigger boxes of litter for free. I now have to return the liners, though ... I bought sifting liners and that wasn't what I wanted. I don't want holey liners ... I can make my own holes!
Well, I have PT this morning and then have to stop at Meijer to pick up a bag of salad. The one I had in the frig was spoiled and I just bought it last week. Yuck! Hadn't even opened it.

The snow is starting. It is a fine snow but the weather channel is saying that we are going to get about 18" of the dreaded white stuff. When that Lake Michigan starts it's lake effect it doesn't seem to know when to stop. Oh to live farther south. They are only getting about 10". They said that we will get about 2" per hour. I want spring to be here now and not later.
I have to go to the store and get some things just in case with the snow coming. I need to get some milk and bread and whole grain muffins or we will have nothing. I got plenty of other stuff. It is just the stuff that we use. I better check Bill's cereal and I need my sf oatmeal too.
I guess I had better get going. I have some things I have to do before getting to the store. I want to be home by this afternoon when all the snow is suppose to start. Yesterday was a crazy busy day. too much going on and the afternoon and evening ended up with too much drama, between the nursing home and my daughters car.....
Today the dog woke me up again at 3am to go outside, this is getting really old.
Finally got back to sleep and he started barking again. My 'puter is acting up this am, I have a headache and am in the middle of an overwhelming mess. Too much to do and not enough time to get it done. Thank goodness the grands are with their dad today and part of tomorrow. I am usually very organized and I can't seem to figure out where to start right now............................................... I know this feeling will pass eventually but for right now I don't know whether to cry or scream! maybe it's time for both!

Edit: I just read a post on the Illinois forum ( It's titled "I don't think she loves me anymore") that made me laugh. so I guess I didn't need to cry or scream just a good belly laugh! I do feel better.....still overwhelmed but better!

My second cauterization was yesterday afternoon. It hurt worse than the first time and caused my nose to run continuously until mid morning. The ENT said this should do the trick - sure hope so. He said to give it 3 - 4 weeks. I don't need to go back unless there's a problem.
Tomorrow George and I are taking off work to celebrate our anniversary (which is actually Thursday), it's more convenient for both of us to be off Wed. Plans are early dinner at this great steak place we use to go to many years ago. It flooded with Katrina and reopened about 2 months ago. Word is they are just as good as before. After dinner we'll go to a Hornet's game. Our star player was injured last night - groin injury. Doubt he'll be playing.
Better sign off and get my butt back to work.

paulette you go ahead and scream and cry if you want to!! i just did!!! had a go round with jc penney about my bill going to michigan!!!!! i opened that account here in ohio and used my current address so how they got the one back in michigan i have no clue!! but they wanted to charge me 50% interest for being late on my payment and i fought the war and won!!!!! they took the late fee off and i also told them to cancel my account there with them. i am so sick of these stores taking advantage of me i quit. she said the post office said i moved to michigan...yeah ok whatever....i am here in ohio NOT michigan!!! any how i hope you have a better day!!!!
brenda!!! OMG woman!!!! 18 inches of this white crapola??????? you KEEP it THERE!!!!!!! i am so tired of this snow and cold!!! although i did take a ride down to lake erie and see the beautiful ice/snow covered lake against the gray sky...simply beautiful!!!

well i did some running around today paying some bills and getting my taxes done. omg they sure charge enough to get them done when you have 2 different states to do!!!!! but i did make out really good on my return!!! wooohoooo should have it in my bank account in 2 weeks she said so i can't wait!!!!! car needs brakes and oil change and tires...also i need my teeth finished up and hope they stop hurting me!!!! i hate living on pain pills!!!
making beef stew for supper tonight and right now it is smelling gooooood!!!!!
had a good day at work yesterday although slow and boring...store is having the yearly audit done to make sure everything is done properly...food court passed with flying colors i was told!!! yippeeee!!!!!!! and here i was worried about one woman and her messes she makes...LOL
have to pay the cell phione bill tonight before they shut us off...oopps we forgot to pay it on time...yikes!!! hope they understand i was sick last week and forgot all about it.
well best get to cleaning the carpet darn bird gets her food all over the floor and i am sure she is sharing it with bandit....LOL
