What's New? Sunday edition
Hi All,
It's another beautiful, sunny day in CA. Our contractor and his son are making lots of noise nailing up our old kitchen cabinets (replaced in the kitchen remodel) into the garage. I'm loving that it is getting done! All of those cabinets had been sitting on our patio blocking the sun from entering my new kitchen! And the cabinets in the garage will hold lots of things that used to be in my kitchen- such as the crock-pot, rice maker, china. I'm still getting rid of everything we don't need. I refuse to let the garage become a new clutter-station!
Today we will be going to a buffet/Super Bowl party at our favorite restaurant/pub (where everybody knows our name!). While the guys are watching the game a bunch of us WOMEN are going to play cards, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Scrabble... we will watch the game with less intensity and focus....It will be lots of fun!
We went to see "The Reader" last night. It is a very good movie... deserving of the award nominations and wins in my opinion. It reminds me that life just isn't black and white- more shades of gray- complexities that require deeper thought. I love that kind of movie!
Happy Sunday!
Julia

Hi Julia:
I'm glad to hear you liked "The Reader" I plan to see it as soon as it gets here to our little town. I have been a Kate Winslet fan ever since Titanic. I want to see Revolutionary Road too.
I will be at our Book Club during the Bowl game, so we ladies will be discussing "A Book Thief" while the guys watch the game.
Hope you are doing well.
Sending hugs,
Pat R.

Hi everyone,
Sounds like everyone is having a good day so far. I'm glad to see Carla on the mend!
Gary had to work for three hours this a.m., so I was able to get a few things done before he got home. He's a big estate sale guy and had gone to one yesterday where they were selling a treadmill. Today everything was 50% off, so we went to check it out. I didn't think it would still be there, but sure enough, we're the proud owners of a new to us treadmill for $25!!!!!
It works and everything LOL
So, now there it is, right next to my desk, staring at me. Guess there's no excuses now, is there?
The kids are on their way for our Sunday ritual. We all have dinner, the guys watch t.v. and Tess and I do up Saint Bella stuff. Still hoping the website will be stocked in another week. We'll see.
Everyone enjoy the rest of their day, whatever it may be!
love and hugs

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good Sunday Evening Debbie and all my OFF Family,
I taught my 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School Class this morning by myself as my DD who is usually there was not feeling well. We had a good morning. After Sunday School DH and I went home and changed out of the "Sunday go to meeting clothes" and decided to ride down to Myrtle Beach, have lunch and then walk it off. The temperature was in the low 50's and sunny. We certianly enjoyed our afternoon.
He is now watching the Super Bowl and I am in and out. I have a roast on that should be done soon and some potato salad (made with sf relish and olive oil mayo) with some baby peas that should be ready to eat in about 15 minutes.
DH is going to be teaching a jewelry making class at our community college starting next Saturday. It is called Intro to Jewelry Making. Guess who got stuck doing the history, class syllabus, and handouts??? You got it me!! I amd the computer person in our house so it really is easier for me do just do it. I will be finishing up that this week. Most everything is at the college being copied now. So it is just a matter of getting it all together next week.
Prayers going up for all of those in need. Hugs to all.

Busy day for me today. Cleaned my house, bought a new pair of comfortable shoes, then went to the grocery store and bought a couple of cake mixes so I could make cupcakes for the kids at the superbowl party my daughter is having. Got one batch made, no problem. Then I went to put the first batch of chocolate cupcakes in the oven, bumped my arm and the batter went all over the inside of the hot oven. I said some not very nice things to myself & started cleaning up the mess and boy what a mess it was. Took me an hour.
Pat, I hope you have a chance to see The Reader. I's an excellent movie. Kate Winslett is such an excellent actor. Bring tissues with you. It's a tear jerker. I also saw Frost/Nixon recently and it was very good also.
I'm glad to hear everyone is feeling reasonably well. The weather her yesterday was in the 50's and in the 40's today. Very nice.
