OT - grandma again
Congratulations. But since you are already a Grandma, you know what wonderful things are in store for you.
We have 6 grandkids (5 boys, 1 girl) and they are the best thing that ever happened to us!! I am Gammy, Grams or G-Ma. My DH is Poohpa (that somehow came from him being like a big old bear, to Pooh, to Poohpa), or Gramps. But no matter what they call us, we are proud of all of them.
Well, Sheri, 2 of the grands are 6 houses down. They are boys, ages 16 and 18. We see them almost every day. Mostly to feed them!! We LOVE it. The oldest heads for college in the fall!
Three of the others live in OR. Our oldest grandson is 20 and we lived very close and saw him often until we moved to NC 4 years ago. The youngest two, an boy 14 and a girl 12 also live in OR. When we all lived in Eugene, I babysat them from the time they were born while their parents worked. Then when the younger one was 4 our daughter was transferred to Portland. I still went up when DD called if they were sick and couldn't go to school ****pt a bag packed in the trunk and could be there in 2 hours) or just to visit. Now I go out there to babysit twice a year, and they all come here to visit in Aug.
The 6th grandchild is 15. He lives in AK with our son and DIL. We never see him. Our son is estranged from the rest of the family, including his oldest son (our 20 y/o grandson). Very sad, but his descision.
There is NOTHING like the hugs from a grandkid. And we still get lots of hugs from all of them! Even from all of their friends who call us Gramma and Grampa.

What a cute way to find out about a new grandchild. Like everyone else I love being a grandma. Our granddaughters call us Nana & Papa. They believe that Nana and Papa can fix anything and everything and Nana can sew anything, except Barbie dolls who have lost or broken their heads, this happens alot at their house!! The youngest decided that since they can't be fixed, Nana should use them as mannequins or Barbie-quins when making Barbie doll clothes.
Congrats on your special news!
Hugs, Paulette
