Honest to goodness, Eileen, I don't know how you all survive in that snow and cold.  But stay there.  Last time the North moved to the South we were overrun by Yankees...:)  Some went back and the rest don't know why they didn't show up here sooner...:)

It was really 'bad' here earlier this week and the schools were closed for a day.... seems we had some ice and some freezing fog.

I went in at noon one day and then 10 the other.  Worked fine for me.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Good morning all my special OFF families. Thanks for getting us started this morning, Janet. It is always nice to see you start it.

Bill is looking forward to the Super Bowl tomorrow. I, on the other hand is going to be in Lay Speaker School which starts tomorrow afternoon. Oh well, maybe I will get to see some of it. I would rather have my beloved Bears playing but it was not meant to be this year. But they gave it the best that they could.

It is so cold here this morning but the good news is that it is suppose to get in the middle 30's. It is going to be like a tropical heat wave. The sun is shining so brightly but the wind is blowing now.

I have some things that I should do today but if I don't get to them they will still be there another day. I go have to get some things from Wal Mart and get a few things. I can't stand it when everything you use all has to be replaced all at the same time. Like that is what is happening here now. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and the whole caboodle.

I better get going.
I am sending everyone love and huge hugs along with prayers and/or special thoughts too. Have a wonderful day and remember to smile pretty.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Marylyn,

Enjoy your thought for the day but really enjoy that you thought enough of us to join us on What's New today.

Ah...antique shop.  I have a lot of antiques that were my grandmother's.

Well, Happy Saturday!

The snow has stopped but the winds continue to create drifts over the roads.  I got stuck in one when making a left-hand turn off our road...fortunately, I was able to maneuver it out of the ruts on my own without having to call JB or Derek to rescue me.  Our back roads don't get plowed as frequently as the main roads..oh the joys of country life! *s*

Today I am staying home..it's too cold to go out unless I had to....last night reached MINUS 29 degrees celcius with windchill!  I am doing a bit of baking for Mother and the guys.

For those who have asked, LilyRose is slowly recovering.  Her tiny little white belly incision is healing nicely and doesnt seem to bother her at all. Her front paws, though, are causing discomfort, and I feel so guilty, but she was scratching at the furniture alot and I couldn't discourage her with all the usual methods.

Katie and our dearly-departed Libby and Ying destroyed our wall-to-wall carpet so badly that the entire house carpeting has to be replaced, so I had to nip this habit in the bud.  Still, I feel so awful about the pain she is in.  She is slowly recovering, apparently having forgiven me, but  she is still careful how she leaps off the couch. Of course, I excell in "GUILT".  She has JB completely wrapped aound her furry little paw..he actually picks her up and gently places her on the floor so she doesnt have to jump off.  He carries her to her water bowl and is now even giving her extra water drinks with a small syringe because she doesnt seem to be drinking as much as before.

I received word today that my Mandala Colouring Books are being printed right now as I type...yayyy! Then I will be shipping them out, filling orders.  I'd been rather anxious about that, waiting for them to be printed.  I should get them by Wednesday, then I have to assemble them, punch & add the spines.  The front & back covers are done separately because they are a heavier card-stock and are colour laser-printed instead.  I now have an order for a custom-designed Mandala "Meditation Corner" which I'm currently drawing up plans for.

With my birthday coming up in March, I just got notice to   re-new my Driver's Licence and also my Health Card...both require new photos...this should be fun.

Well, back to the drawing board!

Nancy,

Can't see a bottle of Ice Wine that I don't think of you.... and if I see a picture of the winery, I just know you are across the road... gee...

One of these days I'm going to get a bottle but buy it from your neighborhood winery...:)

Good evening Ms Janet and friends!

It's hunting season, so while George and his buddies hunt on Sat. mornings, I take in a movie.  Last week I saw Marley and Me.  This week it was New In Town with our very own Harry Conick, Jr.!  Both were good "chick flicks" that while George would have taken me if I'd have asked, he would not have enjoyed - probably would have slept through them!

Before I went to the movie @ 10:30, I had already done two loads of laundry, make a cake for a Superbowl Party tomorrow, swept the entire downstairs, and cleaned the downstairs bathroom.  After the movie, I got my hair trimmed, stopped at Big Lots, and the grocery!  Where did all that energy come from this morning?  Well, it's gone now - shucks!

Above mentioned Superbowl Party is at one of my sisters' houses.  In the morning I'll make potato salad.  BIL says he's barbecuing chicken and ribs.

I am not a football fan, so it makes no difference to me who wins.  I'm going for the company of my sisters and mom - we play games and talk while the guys watch the game.  Now if it were baseball I'd be in the den with the guys!
