Can we say DVR?  I saw her on a commercial about 8:00 and had to run and hit the "record" button because I knew I'd never make it.

Her son's name was Bill HIcks. Personally, I'd never heard of him, and seeing the tape didn't jog a long repressed memory. Maybe if he'd been funny......

Susan,

Maybe I need an Old Dawg around here that just eats and poops and gets me up at 4:30-5 a.m to do laps around the dining room table.

Just wanted you to know that I've fizzied and soaked and loved it.  You have a 'weiner'.

Yes, it is Saturday!  And a lovely one at that.  Although we started the day at 25 degrees!

Yesterday, we called the surgeon's office to get the surgery time for my DH on Monday.  He will be the first surgery of the day and has to be there at 5:15 AM.  We live 2 hours away. Lots of that on unlit, 2 lane roads.  We will be going up tomorrow afternoon.  Check into the hotel across from the hospital.  Settle in and watch the Super Bowl and we will both be able to get a good night's sleep.  Well, I will anyway.  He has lost 15 pounds on his 2 week liquid pre-op diet.  His glucose numbers have been WAY down and he has totally cut out his 10 mg of glucotrol and day, and his Jenuvia.  His only diabetic meds he is taking is the metformin.

We were a little concerned that the surgeon's office DID NOT address this possibility.  The 4th day of liquids his numbers were down to 90.  He crashes at about 88, and knows the symptoms (he has been a type ll diabetic for 10 years).  He had already adjusted his glucotrol, and his PCP confirmed that decision when he called us back later in the evening.  I am very glad my DH was checking 3 times a day.  He usually only did it in the mornings.  Now we know!

So, I am planning what to pack for 2 nights in the hotel (one for my DH).  We both have to take our own pillow!

Have a fantabulous day!

Hi, there!

Will certainly keep your husband in my thoughts and prayers.  My sugar crashes in the 70's.  I haven't learned yet to keep a snack handy, but need to do that.  It doesn't get dangerous, but when i get home for lunch I am "starving" and eat too fast.

I am cleaning the bathroom today.  Then this afternoon am going to see a 97 year old lady who broke her hip (had surgery) and shoulder and is now in a therapy center.  She is a sweetie.

My grandkids are coming to spend the night and that is always fun.

Hope everyone has a good day!

c---i'm wondering who is more excited about this surgery monday-you or dh?!!! welcome back "home" and you will both be in my prayers for monday's surgery!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

morning-round 4 started last nite before bed- so today will be a take it easy day..tho i really do need a shower!

it's 1* here...how did that happen?????????????

a positive to this feeling "crappy" is that my pouch seems to have shrunk back considerably! it really let me know last nite when it was full...and the scale shwos a huge loss but i'm not counting on it when i level off ....

brody has adopted the velcro policy that roxie uses so now i have two furbabies attached to me at almost all times..since brody is considerably  (**UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!****) larger than rox; it's a sight!!!

well; michael wants to check his email- we almost got his computer connected the other nite but were doing something wrong-wish i had a guru who could talk me thru it....

i'll look in later!
glad to see carla, monica, grammylew and tutu karen home !!!jan-stay there-you can plant flowers there!

hugs and prayers

Margo believe me i am thinking about it.....If I can convince Joe....and if we could sell our place for what it is worth...not 2 cents on the dollar. we have already looked at some land....80 acres for 40,000 we would have to go completly solar because there is no elect there but there is water.
and what a view of the mountains....oh well we will see.   lol   Jan. C

Margo,

I like your 'velcro' analogy.  I have always thought those with unruly kids should have a velcro wall and put those little crumbrunners in velcro suits and stick them on it and call them 'art'.  Could work the same with dogs and hubby's.

Even after cutting off 16lbs, this gal's scale isn't moving much.  Ya think it's the half & half in my $4 every morning?  AND... I'm just hungry all the time.

Hi Janet and my OFF family:

It's gloomy, cold and windy here ... 17 degrees and a wind chill of 1 ... can see the snow blow around and the old leaves blow off the trees.

I had a rough night sleeping last night. My knee was bothering me. I woke up at 3 or 4 in pain, so I took a vicodin and went back to sleep; got up sometime before 7, and Scooter and Nettie came into bed and snuggled with me. Then I had this song running through my head, so finally I just got up.

By the way, Mary (Baseball Mom), the Arctic Cappucino protein mix was pretty good. I may buy some.

I'm going to lunch with my friend Gayle, who takes care of my kitties when I'm gone. We both like Mexican food and her husband does not. So we're going to this Mexican restaurant near the mall and then to a movie (Marley & Me). At first, we were going to see Defiance, because her husband was going with us ... I was surprised her husband was going to leave the TV on a Saturday with basketball. Then all of a sudden he said he didn't want to spend the money and it was going to be bad weather ... yeah, right! He didn't want to go because there was basketball on TV. He is such a sports nut (more so than me ... now if it was baseball ....). I don't know what those two have in common. I like them both ... they both work at the Press, but really, they are so different. Maybe it's true opposites attract.

Well, that's my big plans for the day. It'll be nice to get out and have some fun for the day. It also will tell me how much it will hurt to sit with my legs bent for that long.

Have a good Saturday. See ya tomorrow.
