Tutu survived babies, bottles, blankies, and back home!!
Aloha my dear OFF family.......(from my own peaceful place where I'm again watching the whales playing and feeling peace returning to my body and soul),
Thank you, Karen, for asking about me. There WERE times I was going down for the third time......LOL.....and could sure have used some extra sister hands!! Three small children are A LOT OF WORK and take amazing amounts of time and energy when I'm doing it all alone.
One night I had a total meltdown when my oldest grandson, Brocky, (four) called me into his bedroom saying (tutu......I turned on the fan!) Well, he is on the top bunk and the ceiling fan is about six inches from his bed! He had pulled the chain so hard it had come out and the fan was permanently ON! I freaked.....and called my son in Switzerland (thank heavens he answered) and to make a long story short......I had to basically break the fan (after turning off circuit breaker) to get it to stop. Just one example of many challenges during my stay........but I survived!!
My littlest baby, Zane (I call him "little Z"......sounds like a rapper, right?) is a joy. He laughs at everything.....sleeps 12 hours a night, and eats like a lumberjack!! Kept me hopping just keeping him fed!! My son and DIL have cubes in the freezer of pureed veggies and I mix that with baby cereal and that little cutie pie couldn't get it down fast enough. Hummmmm......I wonder where he got that appetite!!
I had a bad cold the whole time I was in Santa Cruz....and thought I'd come home to warm, healing Maui and it would vanish immediately. Imagine my surprise when we landed in pouring rain, and I came home to put on the same long pants, sweater, slippers (warm kine) that I had in Calif. I still have the cold!! But, I am so happy to be home. My kitties were so glad to see me I didn't even get any attitude from Poki who usually flips her tail and shows me her butt a lot when I return from a trip. This time she was just all over me! Ha.
I am going to find time today to read posts so I can catch up. I feel so far behind, and am sorry if I missed really important happenings in your lives. Here comes a big aloha hug to all of you........and maybe it will help in some way. I KNOW it will help me!!
With so much aloha,
Maui Karen

This is one of those times when it was so nice to leave( to see babies) but so nice to be back home. Boys are such a handful!! and 3 under 5, yikes. You should start a journal just of grandson stories, because you will sure get plenty and after the fact they will crack you up. Not so much as you are going through them, huh? You were missed, relax, catch up on your peace. whales and US..Huggs

Aloha Jean.....and thanks for the words of wisdom. So true about being wonderful going to see my grands AND coming home from same trip!
I know I should write everything down.....because while it might not be funny at the moment, in a few years, we could all have a good laugh about when "tutu came to take care of us!"

Karen...I am glad you are safely back home.
Hope your cold improves quickly and that you can warm up and enjoy the whales and the beauty of that wonderful island!
Sounds like the trip was wonderful but very tiring as well. Rest up dear friend. We will be here waiting for you when you need us.
Hugs....connie d

ALoha dear Connie.........It was indeed great fun to see my grandchildren and discover their changes over the months I hadn't seen them. Such amazing little creatures they are....and so many times I had flashbacks of when their father was a little boy. And watching HIM (my baby!) love on his babies....well, there just aren't words for what that means.....brings tears to my eyes just remembering.
Thanks for your always kind, generous and loving words. You are like a gentle hug and a breath of fresh, sweet air.

Aloha Millie.......Truer words than yours have never been spoken! "Commotion" could be the title of my trip's novel!! I'm such a lazy slug in my real life that this was the exact opposite......constant movement! I just today saw my first adult TV....and by that I do NOT mean porn....I mean the NEWS!! LOL (I sure watched a lot of cartoons, NOG (you grandparents will know what that is) and movies like Cars, Finding Nemo, etc. etc.
Aloha nui loa,

Aloha Karen:
You are much, much braver than I would ever be. Don't think I could ever take on three little ones at any time in my life (young or old). Don't think I was made to be a mommy or grandmommy ... just a kitty mommy ... no patience! I admire those that have it.
Enjoy your sunshine ... We're having snow and wind and cold here.
