Update on nose bleeds

Dear OFF sisters and brothers, thank you all for your concern.  Our computer at home is acting up, and my time online at work is very limited.  ENT says I have a blood vessel that is extremely close to the surface, whenever it gets irritated, it results in a nose bleed.  He cauterized it and will again this coming Monday.  Most uncomfortable, but it seems to have worked!!!  He did tell not to be surprised if I have a few bleeds during the week, but so far only two very slight ones.  I am so grateful it wasn't something more serious - recurrence of sinus polyps or a tumor or...

Time to VENT!  Two clericals are out "SICK", and the other one who is here is constantly on the phone with her husband who doesn't work, or her DIL who calls every 1/2 hour or her sister who calls several times a day.  She's already been on the phone for an hour with her husband and her DIL.  She's the back-up to answer the phones.  I'm busy answering her phone because she's on it.  OK, I feel better.

Luv ya, Debbie

Debbie, I had the same thing when I was a teen teenager. I had it cauterized and it didn't work so they burned them out. It was horrid but it worked. I guess it would have been better if the doctor wasn't so mean either. He was just nasty. Oh well. The important thing is that it worked and that was 39 years ago.

I had a feeling that it was something like that when you talked about the nose bleeds. I had them last for a couple of hours at a time. I am so glad that they found out what is wrong and it is easily fixed. Prayers continue for you, dear.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda, I can honestly say I like my new ENT.  The one I saw previously has gone elsewhere since Katrina.  This guy is gentle and to the point.  Thanks for the continued prayers.  Gee if this procedure lasts 39 years - hey wait, I'll be 95.  LOL

Debbie,
Glad to hear your nose problem was what it was and not something more serious.

Hey, I wished I had a job to go to right now.  I'm stuck in the house with my 2 grands and at least 8" of snow outside and on top of that we are OUT OF COFFEE.

Just curious, Deb, where do you work?  Pick up your phone and make like you're talking and tell her to get the phone.

By the way, we will be down your way, hopefully, some time in May.  I've got a neice getting married and we're going to try to make it to the wedding.  I want to drive and I'm going to try to get hubby to go home via New Orleans.  (unless we can meet up in Eunice)

Take care and have a great day.

Hugs,   Peggy

Peggy, I feel blessed to have the job I have (now that Dr. Butthead has retired), but there are days I wish I could retire.  Oh my, 2 grands, 8" of snow, and no coffee!  Hope you survived!

Please, please refresh my memory about your trip in May when the time gets closer.  It would be wonderful to meet you!

Hi Debbie...

I am glad to hear that your nose bleeds are better. Hope the cauterizing works well for you.

As for that lazy clerical person...UGH!!! I would start documenting every personal call she recieves. Why should other be doing her work while she gets paid to talk to her family and friends. Other people must be noticing this too. Get together and have her booted out...you wouldn't miss her because she doesn't do her job anyway! Good luck with that!!

Have a good day....or at least try.

Hugs....connie d

Hopefully Ms. Yack Attack will be gone soon.  Everybody knows she's useless, but she's the Dept. Head's secretary and he'll be retiring as soon as they find his replacement.  She says she'll be on his coat tail out the door.  She could have retired five years ago, but says her husband would drive her nuts if they were home together all day.  She's very old school in that she refuses to learn anything new.  She can't operate the Xerox machine, can't address an envelope without a typewriter - get the picture!

Mom use to get nose bleeds and had to have her nose packed.  Not fun.  Don't envy you that situation.  I kept telling mom it wouldn't keep bleeding if she would quit picking it..... lol  sheeshhh

It's not fair what your co worker is doing.   You can't point out to her that the phones are backing up while she is chatting?  I would be very annoyed if her calls were private....  what is she getting paid for?  I remember all too well the volume of phone calls I had to handle and how easily they backed up.  When someone is out sick or whatever it causes so much stress.

Sometimes a gentle reminder is all that is needed.  LOL  good luck....  been there, done that...

Millie, I had surgery several years ago to remove a sinus polyp.  My nose/sinuses were packed then - not pleasant for sure.  The packing started to slide down my throat and I thought I was going to strangle.
