Thanks Susan,

All warm and toasty here. I have slippers which warm in the microwave. My daughter found them in one of the bedding stores - can't recall which one. They are called "Bed Buddies".

I am sure you could find battery socks in a hunting supply store.

When your website is up and running, will you please send me the information? I am so excited for you. Did they take pictures at the pagent?

Yes I can! Yes I can! Thanks!

Susan,  My husband has a pair of battery operated socks that keep his feet warm.   He has had them forever!  I think high school (graduated in 1967).  He says not that long.  But they sure are warm.  We also so found some pads in Walmart that you put in your shoe or boot to keep your feet warm in the hunting section.

GOOD FOR YOU, ANNETTE!!!!!  I'm so glad to see you're giving up smoking.  Just one more wonderful thing that you're doing for yourself.  One day at a time. Or hour, or whatever it takes.  Be good to yourself.  When you want a cigarette, pick up a furbaby.  It's keep your hands busy, and oh my, all the love....!

I spent yesterday on the road.  Yup, we got a foot of snow in less than 24 hours, and I was driving in it.  I had made long term plans to spend a "girls' day" with a friend that I don 't see very often, and hated to cancel.  So off I went.  The plows were few and far between, but after I drove the 30 miles to her house, we hopped in her 4-wheel drive SUV and took off.  Nothing spectacular, but good to spend the day with a friend of the heart.  We talked about everything, compared grandbaby pictures, and relaxed together.  She recently retired and is busier than ever, and gave me some pointers on how to start the process.  Got home just after dark.  A wild and wooly ride, but safe and sound.  It was a great day.

I'm still working on getting my house back in order after all the upheaval of having 5 floors replaced.  I refuse to put anything bac****il I sort everything and toss or re-cycle unwanted items.  Soooo, some of the cabinets and dressers are still in the living room and hallway.  Convenient for getting to stuff, a pain to maneuver around.  I'm making progress, but it's slow going.

Today I'll get a haircut, stop at the grocery store, and probably start a big pot of stew in the huge crockpot I bought yesterday.  Great sale, and it holds 6 quarts!  I'll be eating stew for a while....

Everyone have a great day, stay warm and safe.

Annette, my thoughts are with you.  Remember the furbabies!!!!!

Candy,
Great idea. They can get extra brushing which most of them adore.

5 floors replaced - how beautiful and a good way to sort/toss or ... dare I suggest - buy NEW?

Sort and toss will do it for now.  The only NEW for a while will be the floors.  They desperately needed it.  I had a gold semi-shag carpeting in the bedrooms, circa 1960's.  Worn, dirty, matted, with a history of poorly behaved pets (not mine....mine are perfect, of course.....)

Time to start saving again, till a new urge to update and remodel strikes.....

How ya doin'?

Annette,

Yes, you can and you will feel wonderful too!  It's one of the best gifts you can give yourself.  I did it, it was hard and I chose for it to be hard, so that next time I wanted to light up I would remember it.  March 2 will be 6 years smoke free!  If I can, you can, so hang tough!

Hugs, Laureen

Thanks Laureen,

This will sound weird - I quit for 10 years. When Mom's Alzheimer's got bad, she forgot she had quit for 30 years and started smoking again. She couldn't be trusted to have matches so I sat while she smoked and STOOOOPIDLY decided to light up also.

At first I wasn't going to post, then decided my OFF family would help keep me in line and yuppers, you are all being GREAT.

Kisses
Nettie
