new to this board looking  for anyone who had a open rny  my date is set for 2/11/09   just wanted some imfo ,thanks

Hi there, and welcome.  I had my RNY almost 3 years ago, but your post is a little confusing.  It says you are having a VSG, which is the sleeve.  I had lap RNY.  I just wanted to welcome you to the site though.  There seems to be a lot of nice people here.  I'm brand new myself.

Thanks,  yes I forgot  to  change      my surgery type I really wanted the sleeve but my ins. won`t  cover it so I am doing the RNY my Dr. said it would be better for me anyway  but I will have it open. I am  a little scared but I have faith in my Dr. he only does it open.

Oh I understand the fear of the surgery.  I too wanted a lap band but my Dr does only the open.  I'm glad he did.  I don't like the scar but I do like the better health.  

WLS is a whole new lifestyle.  Not just your eating changes but also the way you live and ohhh life just gets better.

Thanks I am really ready for this  you have done wonderful,I have heard many horror story`s  like the weight will come back on in  no time  but my Dr. said only people who don`t follow the program gain back weight. take care,Robin

Thanks Karen, I can't wait to see if the scale in the doctors office tomorrow is the same as mine.
We're suppose to have a snow storm here in Pittsburgh tonight so my appointment may be cancelled anyway.
