Good Morning George and dear friends,

Was off to an early start this morning. By Jen's at 6:15, got Cheyanne to school, then the bank &  post office.  Earl is at Physical therapy (he insisted on driving himself) so Sami and I are at home waiting for him to get back so I can finish the rest of the Monday morning madness.  Have to go to the other bank in town, then Sam's Club to exchange a fleece jacket, and drop Sami off at 11:30 for school.

Yesterday was not a very good food day for me.  I played on the computer and worked on my desk all day, even stayed in my jammies, I could not warm up.  Skipped lunch and snacks so by dinner time I was famished.  Ate while I was cooking, then ate some more, finished off a bag of beef jerky and some crackers...  Well this morning  I am paying for eating the jerky, my hands, fingers and feet are swollen.  I knew this would happen but ate the darn jerky anyway.  Why do we do this crap to ourselves?  Ok so back on track this am. Ate a sensible breakfast, planned out snacks, an orange later this am and an apple this afternoon.  Lunch will be salad, dinner Mesquite chicken breasts and wild rice.  Also need to make sure I drink extra water today and get some exercise in.  After sitting all day at the desk, I am so stiff, my back, legs and knees ache.

George I am looking forward to baseball season too, Hopefully I'll warm up by then! LOL!  Looks like our Cubs will have a new owner...so the mantra starts again... This could be our year!!!

Hugs to all, Paulette

Good Mornng OFF Family,
George, enjoy your World Market while you can, we had 2 and they closed a couple weeks ago. I  dearly love that store but don't go often. I was so sad to hear they closed, and mad that I had missed all the pre-closing clearance. The news blamed it on our economy.
I had such a fun weekend. Saturday I took Mom and  DD Liz and we picked up Angel Food. It was Liz's b-day so I told her to go home, put away her food and we would be picking her up for a girls luncheon. I picked up her mother -in-law then her and then told her we were taking her best friend Tina also, when we got to Tina's house there was a surprise baby shower for Liz. I can't believe it we actually were able to surprise her!! It was lots of fun. Then when I dropped off Liz at home I went in and put up her new kitchen curtians that I had made her for her b-day. Yesterday after church everyone came over to my house for Fajitas, spanish rice, guac, tortilla chips and bean dip and carrot cake. After dinner we played spoons so much laughing and carrying on.
Judge let son out of jail without even a fine, just a lecture  about how it was HIS responsibility to look at the ticket for the court date and not count on what the officer said, Phil agreed and apoligized. Good grief these grown up kids are giving me grey hair. I lost another 2 pounds this week, whoo hoo.  I did eat some bad carbs this weekend and so now I am going to have to suffer the with drawal for a couple of days..dang.. Blessings to all for a great week

Hi George and everyone who is here,
I'm sitting at my desk eating tuna with jalapenos... love this lunch! We just had a fire evacuation...my school is old and the heating system is going downhill, so the motors are dying and when they do we get classrooms full of smoke. I had three kindergartners with me so once we got outside we tried to huddle close to keep warm.At least the sun is out and the temperature here is in the 50s.
Today the vision specialist was visiting and she didn't recognize me- that is always fun. We spent many an hour together in meetings in the not so distant past. It happened last week too with a parent of one of my old students and with the music teacher.
On Friday night I surprised my husband with a 60th birthday party. I'm glad it is over, but it was lots of fun. The owner of the restaurant (a good friend of ours) donated a huge prime rib.... I don't think one speck of it was left after everyone got their fill.
My big project on weekends is getting our garage cleaned out. It is coming along quite nicely! You can't believe how much Goodwill has scored this month from me! I'm transfering all of what's left of my Christmas "stuff" into crates, so I still have to buy a few more to finish that part up. Our old kitchen cabinets are going to be installed into the garage next. Once they are up our renovations should be almost complete-at least those that we can afford this year.
Today is Chinese New Year- Happy New Year Everyone!

Hi George and OFFr's,

Didn't have time to really be on the computer this weekend, as it was a busy one with a little bit of everything. . .

Saturday, Tony came down, we went for breakfast, then to the early showing of Grand Torino (what a great movie), then we just hung out for a bit and went to an early dinner, he left for work and I did some laundry and caught up on some DVR'd programs, so much to catch up on, I just don't have time, yet I really like the shows I DVR, which are only 4, maybe President's Day weekend I will be able to catch up on all of it. . .  anyway, I eventually went to my Women's AA meeting and then one of my sponsee's came back to my house to have a bit of conversation, after which I sat on the couch with Dillinger, he was acting rather strangely and I guess the realities are that he is an old dog and is going to have good days and bad ones, he was fine come Sunday morning.

Sunday morning I was up at 6:30, out the door at 7, went to an early morning AA meeting, then the gym, called my DIL hoping to see my grandkids, but she had plans, which kind of upset me initially, as I had called her and left messages on Thr, Fri and Sat and she never returned my calls, but oh well, we all have busy lives and I told her I would plan on stopping by tonight after work, after that I went food shopping, went home and unloaded the food, prepped my snacks and such for the work week and finally sat down to watch some DVR'd programming, when one of my friends called to say that she had some Filet Mignon and did I want to share it with her, to which I responded, only if you bring it here and hang out with me and Dillinger, so she did and then next thing you know my roommate and a friend of hers popped in and we had a very nice impromptu gathering, I made some broccoli w/garlic and olive oil and we had a nice dinner and hung out until it was time for me to say goodnight.  I never did get to catch up on programming, but hanging out with real live folks is more fun!

I am going to have a busy sort of a week and I am working Saturday at the once a year Partner's Meeting, which is being held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan.  I have to work there on Thr. from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., which I just found out this morning, so I have to figure out where I can stay, as I would have to get up at 3:30 in the morning in order to be in the city by the time they want me here and then a few hours in the afternoon on Friday, after which I am staying at my g/f's house in Queens so I can spend time with her and then be in the City Saturday at noon until 7 p.m.  But it might be a nice change to be working outside of the office, I just have to figure it all out. . .

So that's what's been up with me.

Wishing you all a great day, what's left of it and prayers and positive thoughts to all, special ones for those facing various challenges,

Hugs, Laureen
