Good Afternoon Nancy and everyone!
Yeah, I have been MIA this past week.  last Tuesday I lost a crown and part of the tooth so had to get that fixed.  Here it is still January and I have used $300 of the $500 allowed by my dental insurance for the year!  Oh boy!
Not much else new here.  I have let the new kitten play with the feral kittens before and actually moved his litter box in here and combined their food and water into the same room.  Today I also am letting Lilith and Tabitha leave the room.  They are not really warming up to me any better except when I open a can of cat food!  but they are exploring a bit and they all seem to play well together.  Lukas seems to think he is THE boss, but me thinks the girls can clean his clock anytime they want.
I should be at my banks online bill paying site paying some bills, but you see I am not.  (UT OH!)  Guess I HAVE to do it soon.....
have a great Sunday all!

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

It's cold here, but not as cold there ... 17 degrees, feels like 5, and the sun is trying to peek out. Having lived in the Dakotas for eight years, I know nothing is as bad as there.

I was a popular person yesterday: calls from my brother Gary, my friends Mary Kay, Roxane and Paulette. Boy, did I talk a lot! It was great ... kept me from grazing all day. Thanks, folks! I watched the figure skating in between and a movie I had DVR'd: "The Holiday," with Kate Winslett and Cameron Diaz ... it was very good, I loved it! I know it's been out for a while, but the only movie channels I get are TCM, AMC and the Encore package, so I have to wait to see movies. Or I splurge and get one PPV, which I don't do often.

I've already stripped the bed today, and the comforter is on its third drying cycle (it usually takes a few to dry the flannel comforter); sheets are washed and waiting to go in the dryer. I want to take down some of the Christmas decorations, but it may take me all week because it's going to be slow; I don't want to overdo anything and pay for it later. Because all the boxes are heavy, I have to carry them with two hands, and that means I can't use my cane. Like I said, it may take all week.

Margo, it's good to pair your iron with things that have Vitamin C. That aids in the iron absorption. And, as you have discovered, calcium and iron don't mix. I learned that when I had an iron deficiency and I was taking my iron along with my protein drink, which had dairy in it. I started taking the iron later in the day, and then my iron went up. These little tricks do help. I didn't know about the coffee, though. I drink a fair amount of coffee, but my iron levels are pretty good every year. I guess all the spinach and raisins are working. My health food store guy swears by some iron supplement that has desseciated liver in it; don't remember what it's called, but he says his daughter donates plasma, and that's what she uses.

Not much else happening today; already heard from Mom; plan on watching basketball, figure skating and doing some reading in between the undecorating. Not getting out of the PJs either. Have PT tomorrow and Tuesday so I'll be busy enough then. I will do some PT today so I can maintain my strength.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Have a good day.

Hello, Nancy!

I also feel a little guilty for saying I have felt cold today, we were in the 20's the whole day.  May have some winter mix the next couple of days, but nothing compared to some of the rest of you.

My grandkids spent the night with us.  We took them to SS/church and out to lunch then back to Mom and Dad.  Since I had no commitments today we tthen just went driving a couple of hours on roads around here we hadn't been on before.  We love doing that, but with the cost of gas it is a good thing we only do it once a month or so.

Got in a good nap today and have had a nice restful afternoon and evening.  I LOVE Sundays like this!
