A wierd WOW Moment
~*~*~*~*~*~*~* AIN'T LIFE GRAND *~*~*~*~*~*~ When people ask me how much I've lost I don't tell them until after I let them know how many meds I'm no longer taking and how much my BMI has dropped..... getting off these meds have been a God sent. The one and only reason I had surgery. CONGRATULATIONS..... Millie
ME too!!!! I am presurgery---- and have lost 63 ##'s since Feb!!! DOING exactly as if I have already had the surgery!!!! It is really wonderful---and almost already a lifestyle!! I did have a little slip today--- but that was for a special lunch out----- and got right back on track this evening....also--- writing what I eat---- using thedailyplate.com and pre-planning a little seem to be my most help!
My first surgeon couldn't believe it ( I have to change due to insurance) and tomorow I meet with the surgeon ( imsurance ok'd) and I know he'll me happy --my Nut. told me that I most likely won't have to go on the liquid pre-diet---- I have diabetes-and my ##'s are realy good.
AND for me---the best--my asthma has already calmed down sooo much!!! My asthma doc is really kind of against the surgery---- ( he is a skinny man) and for a year I have told him---the asthma is about my weight----- my poor lungs working to carry my butt!!! Well--now I have proof!! SO YES! YES! YES!!! THIS works---pre-op and obviously post op!! FOr me---Keeping the weight off for ever---well--- I already know I couldn't do it w/o the surgery------
YAYA!! Best of luck to you as well---as we continue to get healthy!

Hi Lori, wow 63 lbs that is fantastic...I found out I wasn't eating enough so my weight loss was really slow, now that I am better about eating enough calories, protein and good carbs my weight loss is picking up. I have asthma too and my asthma is better also, amazing isn't it ?! Seems like we have alot in common...I use the daily plate to track my food..I love it for that, my nutritionist thinks it is a great tool too. And I have learned so much about nutrtition and wathching things like protein, fat and sodium. Paulette
Congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of WLS! I too had been on bp meds since early 20s, gradually increasing to 5 bp meds per day. Now I take a very low dose of 1. I really don't think I need that one, but the doctor insists. My bp ranges between 108/68 to 100/60. He'd have freaked had I been his patient back when my bp was 190/110 to 200/110 Also my he's concerned that my blood sugar hovers around 100. I'm happy with that as it used to be 115 to 130.
