I am so glad you started the thread. I was thinking about you , wondering how you were holding up with LP. I didn't know you also had N. You make me feel bad. I am thinking I should take Christina's 15 month old, Ana 'Li for the evening so they can have a break at the hospital with the new baby. I can't believe how they let little ones in the hospital rooms now. I was up there yesterday and Christina's husband had Ana'Li up there all day, then a friend of theirs with a 10 month old came in. geezz how is a person suppose to get any rest. Any way, Wednesdays I take the grandkids to the library. Faith 14 and Zach 6. Then tonight is a dinner and out door service at church. So I should take Ana'Li too, but I don't want you. Chase chase chase.Plus she has 'mommyitis", and I don't want to deal with a crying baby if she is uncomfortabe with me. sigh, I will think about it..Such a beautiful day here. warm, sunny low humidity.wish I was out playing instead of being at work...playing on the puter.. grin.. guess I had better do some work. Blessings

Hi Aime and everyone: Aime, I haven't seen you online in ages, I'm so glad you are doing well and busy with your grandson. I know how much you love him and missed him when you couldn't see him. I'm glad you are able to help out N and take care of her and LP. I know you like doing that, although it can fatigue you. You enjoy being a grandma, and it suits you. Boy, he's 6 months! He's done so well, and I'm sure that's due a lot to your nurturing too.  I asked my boss if he had any overtime shifts available ... he responded and said be careful what you ask for and gave me three Saturday shifts. Now, while I treasure my weekends of doing nothing, working some OT will give me some extra money. It's almost as good as a part-time job, actually better, because it pays better, I can sit down and do it and I know what I'm doing and don't have to be trained. Unfortunately, the first shift is Saturday, which is the Sox-Cubs game ... oh well ... this way, if the Sox are losing (the game starts at 1, work starts at 3), I won't be swearing at the TV and ticked off that the bums can't play any better than that. And if they're winning, I can record it on the DVR and enjoy it with a beer later in the evening when I get home.  We are going to get rain today; it's overcast and coolish (I think it's cool, I have the windows closed and the temp inside is 71). Plus, I woke up with a headache. It's always a good clue.  Well, I should get on my bike for a while. Not much else is going on.  Have a good day.

so good to see you posting-don't know where you get the energy!!!! i agree that we need a new pic of LP!!!! nothing really new here today- am not eating peanuts or cheese and hoping that will prolong my gb a bit...hard cuz i counted on thos etwo things for snacking protein.... i'm finding that i have to be very careful what i say online as i have finally arrived as in i have been blocked by a member of this board...and i think it's funny! she evidently felt that i was chastising her  in a reply that i made to her the other nite and i did apologize however she has blocked me--oh well! it's just funny  to me to see ppl respond to her when i can't even see that she posted!  michael and i walked down the trail behind our house today- seems that there was a bushhog going thru cleaning-boy did they make a mess! am thinking it means that they will actually start work back there now--it will become part of the "rails to trails" system. we took roxie and so she is now tuckered out and napping...stopped and chit chatted iwth a neighbor- haven't talked to him in a long time he didn't know who i was for a few minutes! well- hugs and prayers and hoping a good day for all......

Aloha OFF sisters and brothers!

Aime.....it is so good to see you!! I can't even imagine how busy your life is right now. My two weeks in Calif. with three grandbabies about wore me out....and I'm just now recovered....Ha!

Right now I'm sipping away at banana "stuff" for a CT scan I'm having later this morning. It actually doesn't taste that bad......sort of like a protein shake, and I'm sure used to those. Because I've had surgery, they are having me drink every hour...about a cup...so very easy to do. Hopefully this will answer why I had have a few episodes lately.

I just sat out on the lanai for an hour in the sun......my tan is really getting nice and dark. It's a gorgeous day, barely a breeze in the palm trees, and the ocean is giving us a nice easy surf break for the surfers to enjoy. My son, Mark, would so LOVE to be here right now surfing instead of working in Silicon Valley!

The rest of my week is full.....meeting tomorrow at hospital, teeth cleaning on Friday, and then off to Honolulu on June 30th AND July 7th for meeting with surgeon and plastic surgeon for consult. I wonder if the PS will be willing to do a LBL on my spongy belly. We'll see!

Time for shower and go, go...........but had to pop in and say Hi and wish everyone well.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Aime and my OFF friends, Although it straps all your energy, it's a good kind of tired.  My Grands live too far away for me to have that kind of interaction with them.  Enjoy LP as much as you can.  Six months as I remember is all smiles, cooing, eating and peeing/pooping.  Love the smiles and cooing. I'm bummed that I won't be able to go to the GTG in October.  My maternal female cousins have a three day weekend reunion usually the third week of October.  Hubby will throw a fit if I'm away two weekends in a row.  So I'm choosing family but I will be with you in spirit.  Maybe the next one can be near Maui Karen??? LOL. Eileen, good news about the extra work hours. Kathi, I'm with you about the cream of wheat AND oatmeal is just as bad to me. Janet, good luck choosing the best job option for you. I'm so enjoying going out in the mornings and watching my birds and flowers that I am not very motivated to work. Candy, if you pop in, I enjoyed the pictures of your yard and cats. Well I have to go back to work. Hugs and prayers for those that need them. Bev
