OT......Update on my friend....

I wrote about my friend, Pearl this morning on the "Whats New". She is the one with Cancer that I hadn't been able to locate. Well, I found her.  I called her today and am so glad I did. It doesn't sound like she will be with us much longer. Bless her heart!! The cancer is in her lungs (that is where it started....smoker for years) and now in her bones, breast and brain.  She has found peace and I am so glad about that. She is not afraid. Her family is really being supportive. They hadn't been for years. Her ex husband has made amends and he stays with her every night. We had a nice conversation. Sad but nice. Thank you Lord for leading me to her phone number. She had WLS about a month before I did. I was there for her surgery. She has no regrets having it done.  Thanks for listening......love and hugs.....connie d

Oh Connie, I am so glad to know you found your friend today.  It's so good to be able to make contact.  It's a sad time right now but everything you said sounded as positive as the situation could be. Take care and keep your chin up.  I don't have the magic words to help the saddness but know you have a cyber-hug from me.

I am glad  you got to talk to her... It is so sad to lose someone close... a part of you goes with them it seems... I know she will be going to a place without cancer or pain or heartbreak...

Marc....thank you so much for the kind words.  She is ready and is at peace with the world. She  looks forward to being pain free once again. Let me tell you.....she would have given you a run for your money in the humor department. Connie, I am so glad you found your friend and at the same time terribly sorry to hear she is dying. We pray the Lord will take her home soon where she will no longer suffer and be at peace.
