I just found out that Dr. Patterson is on maternity leave till may i think, so now, Dr. Hong is going to be performing surgery!! I am kind of weiry of this because I had my heart set on Dr. Patterson, and I know she is a good doctor, everyone on here has said such good things about her. So if anyone has any info on Dr. Hong and can reassure me that would be great!! Anything you have to say will help! Thanks

Hi Native: I love Dr. Hong. He did my surgery on August 24 and I have lost 63 pounds (I was just at the point I could have this surgery--100 pounds I needed to lose--I had several medical problems). He was wonderful, he has a wonderful bedside manner and when you think of it this way, I don't think Dr. Patterson would have a partner who wasn't as good as she is. Her reputation would be affected too with the Obesity Clinic and all. You need not be afraid of Dr. Hong--you're lucky. Not to say Dr. Patterson isn't wonderful too. I've just had first hand experience with Dr. Hong and he's great. Just my opinion. Pam

Hey, Dr. Patterson performed my surgery back in May, but it's Dr. Hong I've seen for every follow-up appoint. He's great, very professional and has an outstanding bedside manner. I don't think you could go wrong with either Patterson or Hong. I trust them both completely. Blessing, -Perry 376/335/219/185 116 Pounds Gone! "There's just one rule with no exception. Dr. Hong is a wonderful doctor. Dr. Patterson is also tops, but I wouldn't recommend a delay in your surgery date to wait for her return from maternity leave. I was very satifisfied in every way with Dr. Hong. He and Dr. Patterson share the same practice, and I felt I was getting the knowledge and experience of both of them. They have worked together quite a while, and Dr. Patterson trained Dr. Hong in this specialty. He also has plenty of experience previous to that as a surgeon. I think you will find him great to work with. Good luck. Patty

I so appreciate your question! I had the same feelings when I went in two weeks ago and the office staff said Dr.Patterson was on leave early. A year ago they had given me the choice of Dr. Hong and I said no. And this time he was offered again, so I figure it must be ment for him to do the surgery. So off I go with Dr. Hong on Feb.1st! Thanks Andrea
