Well, I'll be......w/o a surgeon!!
So, I have re-arranged my life for the last year and half (and then some) quit my job so I could have one that gave me insurance, have taken all the tests Dr. Patterson requires and quit smoking cause she won't operate on smokers (and other surgeons will) and she won't be my surgeon! I am just sick! (and feeling really aweful for being sooo selfish, LOL)
So, I put this out to everyone......I can't wait, I have to have it around April b/c of school. So, tell me why I should have your surgeon! Lay it all out for me, do you love your surgeon, hate them? I need opinions and quick. I, of course, will do my own research through AMOS, but I would love to get straight up opinions here too. Help me! I am in a bind........ I am going for LAP RNY, but will do Open if I have to.
Thankx everybody!
Brandi,
I love Dr. Hong! Lots of people get their heart set on Dr. Patterson, because she has so much experience, skill, and a great record. WLS surgery is her passion. She really is something! But....I really am happy that I ended up with Dr. Hong. I don't think you would be settling for anything less, as far as the qualities that come with Dr. Patterson. She chose him to join her practice, she trained him in this procedure. He had years of experience prior to his training with Dr. Patterson. As to your question, yes I love my surgeon!
I really like his bedside manner. He gives me plenty of time, answers my questions, and has a very kind way about him. I am guessing that being in the same practice, it would be easy to transfer your stuff over to him and set a date for April.
I am so looking forward to you getting to the other side! You are going to do great, and it is going to happen! Don't let this stand in the way. It's a bump in the big picture.

Brandi,
I've heard lots of good things about Dr. Hong from people in my support group....I think he'd definitely be worth checking out.
Dr. Tom Eubanks did my surgery and he's wonderful! He also did Shelley Billings' surgery. His skills are top-notch, track record very good and is very caring and supportive of all his patients. There's no doubt in my mind that he truly cares about every single one of them.
Good luck!
Michele
