I'm BAAAACK!
Well. I am home from my ankle surgery. Tee is right! I have no memory of her visit. Thank you, Tee and Gee, for the visit and the great Splenda Coffee flavorer.
I can't put any weight on that foot for 6 weeks, so I am hobbling and hopping on one foot, using a walker. I have to keep the foot elevated, so I only get up to use the bathroom and eat my meals at the dining room table.
Joe is being a Prince, taking such good care of me. What a guy!!!
Thanks everyong for you well wishes and support. I am hoping for a full recovery and hope to take some long walks again!
HUGS!!!!!!

I'm so glad you are doing so well!
Nothing much to remember, really. You smiled a goofy smile (drugs) and laughed at all the jokes, including the ones only you could hear, lol.
I'm frantically getting my act together for plastics on the 21st! Yes, must be in LA by the 16th for labwork and pre-op testing and then....
OMG! that' next week!
Gotta go and find someone to look after the cats....holy c**p! Thanksgiving might make that tough. We just bought a motor home for travelling and for Gee to have ammenities where there aren't many to be had.

Hey, That's my regular smile!!!
When do we get to see the motorhome? Sounds like you two are bound for some fun!
Do you usually have a big Thanksgiving celebration? If so, your out of town guests could use the motorhome!
Well Sweetie, good luck finding a cat sitter. If you were closer, I would volunteer, for sure.

Usually we DO have Thanksgiving. This year we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving by having my family come down from Vancouver, BC.
I doubt I'll be back by then. They tell me I will stay in hospital for five days since I'm from so far away.
Gee will be living in the parking lot!
This is an adventure to be sure. It is old and we are fixing it up as a rolling hotel room. We are not hunting or camping types at all.
Gee has some repairs ro make on one interior wall but otherwise this buggy seems to be solid.
I'll find someone for the cats. Already might have someone lined up. I just got the date this morning.
take care of your feetie, sweetie!

Hey that sounds like an adventure Tee! Roadtrip and plastic surgery delux! That's so cool! I wonder if hospitals have R.V. hookups? I can't help with the cat, but I know my vet boards them maybe your does too. Of course my cat wouldn't have liked that, but they do get back to normal after a bit of sulking. I admit when I went to California last year for six days we left our cat inside with two huge litter boxes, a couple of vats of water and a whole bag of food. I also had a little neighbor girl check in a few times. I just knew she would prefer that to being in the vet in a cage for a week. She is an indoor/outdoor cat, but she thought the litter box was very nice and used it right away. Good luck.
Found a cat sitter through craigslist. A mother coming to visit daughter for TG.
They will cover the entire time I am gone. Done!
Now Gee has the inside of the RV torn apart. We are remodelling it to our needs and taste.
Gone with the crappy looking interior (all fake wood panelling and wallpaper. Hello new carpet, seats and upholstery. Used to sleep 6 but there are only two of us, so all that extra stuff goes. We are making a computer station, sitting area where the rear bed was and took out the upper bunk totally. Should help with the weight, too (ergo: gas) From browns to coffee and yellows. I think it will be okay once it is all back together.
Looks old and awful from the outside but that's okay. No temptation to break in (or less, anyway) and it will be cheap to register and insure.
No hook-ups at the hospital but they will allow parking on the grounds. That's fine, it has a generator, A/c and all that stuff.
See you all when I get back and am up and around again....
Joy! You looked so tiny in that bed. When I said that you told me you like hearing it and then I got that goofy drug induced smile. You are so cute!

Welcome home! You will be so glad when all is healed that you did it. I found even during my surgery for a hysterectomy a year after my WLS I found myself marveling at how positively small in the recovery bed! Those kind of situations were just the ones that were made extra bad by my being self conscious about my weight. Wishing you a quick recovery.
