Does anyone know if you get a fill at your one month check-up? I have read alot of posts from this site that all seem to vary in regards to this. I am not hungry yet ( just a little over 2 weeks post-op) nor do I ever feel full. I am a little worried that once I get on solid foods if I dont' have any saline in my band that I may be able to eat more than I should

Depends on what you've been doing with weight loss and how you feel. I didn't. I actually didn't get my fill for two months (Dr. Jan). Once you start solids you'll soon realize that you'll probably be able to eat more than you think you should. Dr. Jan's said to eat to be "full" but to make healthy food choices. I'm not supposed to starve myself but let a good fill restrict my band and quantities. Takes time. Good luck! Lori

Hi Carrie, Remember the first 4 weeks are about healing and letting the band get settled. It will be normal for you to be hungry or feel hungry during this time. Most Dr's require liquids the first 30days, some allow for soft and mushy food. My Dr. does the first adjustment at 6 weeks, the first 4 weeks are for healing and the next two weeks you begine to eat will indicate to you how tight you feel from just having the band wrap around your stomach. Dont worry about gainning or loosing weight those first 6 weeks. Trust me after you so get your adjustment it will be like hitting your brakes really hard on your eating habits and ability. Your band will indicate to you when you get to eat and how much and there may be days "he's" just cranky and wont let you very much at all. Congradulations ! Welcome to the losing side !
