Another WOW moment!
Just wanted to share another WOW moment with you. My husband told me that he was working in the front yard the other day and saw our neighbor talking to another woman he didn't recognize. After a minute and seeing the familiar clothing, he realized it was ME!!! heheheh! He said that he didn't recognize the skinny woman. It is moments like this that make this journey extra special.
I want to send these WOW moments out to those who are beginning this journey. It is soooooo worth it. My lab work is perfect, my blood pressure and cholestral levels are normal and no more sleep apnea. Life is good and I owe a great deal of thanks to those who have supported me here!

I think you might just be right! It's amazing how others react when we lose weight. You might tell her that she needs to change her makeup, because her skin tone is a might green!
You go, girl!!!! I noticed how much tinier you looked at our last luncheon. That bicycle thing is a-workin'!
I hope we can get together again, soon!
Joy
Well thank you for the compliment. Your post didn't post back to me e-mail so I just discovered this this morning.
Yeah, I was kind of hoping we all could get together on the 28th, but that doesn't look like it's going to work since it is just around the corner. I went ahead and scheduled a complete spa day. It's my B-day!
You take care and maybe we can get together soon.

I love it Joy! I still get WOW moments - most of them little private ones that make me feel grateful every single day. A couple recent ones......
I was standing outside my gradeschool daughter's classroom as the kids were filing in. My daughter's best friend was walking towards me, and didn't give me her big smile until she was up close. She said "oh, I thought you were Mrs. Nichols". I had my hair in an uncharactaristic pony tail, and was wearing white jeans. Five years ago Mrs. Nichols came to our school as a twentysomething newlywed, just out of college basketball star. Now don't think I have any delusions, I realize it was the light and distance of a crowded hall......but for a moment the mistaken identity did occur! Since Mrs. Nichols did know me pre-op and I did meet her at my highest weight, let's just say I know she would have been fairly horrified to be mistaken for me, and it made my day!!!
Once your kid gets out of gradeschool you don't see parents daily anymore. On the last day of Jr. High the kids have a "crossing over" ceremony. They shut down the intersection and string a big balloon rainbow over the street, and the kids walk from the junior high to the highschool. Being the great mom I am, I wrote down 10:30 and got the the parking lot at 10:15. Well, the actual time for the two minute event was 10:15. I was walking towards things and saw them starting to cross!!! I started running!! I could see my daughter crossing but she didn't see me!! I was supposed to be standing there cheering. I ran across the intersection (probably got in everyone's pictures!) and made sure she saw me. She wasn't aware of my error! Back to the point.....I literally RAN. That was something I never could have done pre-op, and I was thinking of catching the scene - not thinking of being a spectacle because I was so fat trying to move fast. Then a mom said "oh my go****'s you Patty, I thought you were one of the kids running". Then when amongst the parents I saw a few that hadn't seen me in a couple of years. It was shock and pleasure at the change in me.
You are right Joy, I got so much hope and encouragement from other post-ops when I was contemplating this surgery. It seemed so impossible and far off for it to be me. For all of you starting this journey know that it is possible to get there. Stick it out! It will be worth it. The WOW moments are great, but it's the health that makes it most worth it. I just got a great physical and feel so healthy when I wake up in the morning.
