Joyce (hugs!!!)  thanks  ....... I've been dwelling in my own embarrassment thinking how can i talk to you guys and then I thought I NEED TOO! Just do it! You guys helped me out in the beginning and I wouldn't have come as far as I did before - go back Janet go back.  I feel guilty because I haven't been on OH very much.  I pop in off and on and read but my life has been so busy and tons going on in work, son's life and more it's hard to stretch one self in so many direction. Then I remember when I was on earlier in my WLS stages,  I use to say to people, come as you can, there's no judgement here only support and I remember this

and came home to OH.  I love all of you guys!  Thanks

Hi Janet,

It's been a while, but I see we've been struggling with the same things. I was put on a new medication in November & I've been craving food non-stop since then. I gained 10 lbs over the winter. For the last couple of weeks I've been following the tips that Erica just listed & I've lost 3 lbs. I'm happy the needle on the scale is moving in the right direction. Take one day at a time & things will turn around.

Take care,

Andrea

Hi Andrea,  its so nice to see so many familiar OH faces :)  I agree, one day at a time and quit dwelling on what I have gained, and concentrate on losing again.  I will control this and turn it around.  You take care too and I really really appreciate your kind support

I have gained 60 lbs from being on Lyrica for the past five years. Also with Effexor, it is a losing battle and the reason my doctors had me have the bypass. I never felt full and even lately i am hungry all the time again. I had two steroid injections in my knees a month ago and likely another cause. I would like to stop Lyrica but have been told that it is not going to happen. The doctors would like to increase the dose!!! NFW...I want off and i want to be successful in getting to my goal weight! It is great hearing your story and others that have replied. Don't be embarrassed...far worse things top that list! Good luck and keep posting. You are on your way down again!

Thanks Kate.  Yes it was scaring me.  I kept putting it off that it's just me thinking I'm hungry but I would literally be thinking all time "what can I eat now"  It was crazy.  I'm turning that around now and saying ok I need to eat but eat only for normal meals not just because its there and taste good.  Good food can make us put weight on too if we eat too much of it too.  So It takes lots of work.  Don't let the doctors tell you - you have the right NOT to take certain medications.  They have to work with you and perhaps try something else but I just refused and now they are monitoring me and I pray it gets better in time but the pain is a nuisance sometimes but I'm going to keep going on.  sometimes the knees and ankles pain take over then the leg pain kicks in and its not fun but it could be worse I keep saying.  then the next day the pain isn't as bad and this is when I try and get more exercise.  I will get my weight down and I just want to thank each and everyone of you for reaching out to me................ I needed it soooooooooo much (tears running down my eyes now).  I feel special again.  Thanks

Hi Janet,

Glad to see you posting!!

I think that all of us here have to realize that we may end up battling with our weight for the rest of our lives. WLS doesn't solve the problems of our metabolisms etc.  We are going to go up and down for the rest of our lives.

I laugh when people say I "want to have WLS to end the weight loss roller coaster" because hun, the rollercoaster is never ending!

You can do it though - when we give up the fight with our weight - that's when we are doomed. As long as we keep trying, we'll get here :)

Dawn you have always been an inspiration to me.  The running that you are doing just thrills me and I am so proud of you!  You are absolutely right the battle is for the rest of our lives and WLS doesn't solve it all as people tend to think.............. it takes hard work.  Thanks for your inspiration one more time.  I am overwhelm with the love that I feel from all the above posts.  I'll stay in touch. and yes we'll get there!
