You know Ron, you are absolutely right! This is my journey and I'm going to enjoy it. It's not always about reaching your destination. There are some great positives along the way and I'm going to enjoy the entire ride.

Hey 1-3 lbs. a week is great!!  Don't let anyone rain on your parade, this should be a happy time for you.  You're doing what you need to do to make yourself healthy and happy, and that should be your main focus.  For the record I think you're doing a great job, and you look fantastic!!! Flo

I had my surgery on Aug 14th and I'm down 65lbs.  I haven't changed my ticker bc i forgot my password

Listen.......you didn't gain  that weight over nite and your not gonna loose it overnite........that is how i feel and that is what i tell people when i see their faces when they think i should have lost more weight.  I also tell them atleast I'm doing something positive about it and that I would appreciate their support and if they can't say anything positive.........please keep their opinions to their selves

Walk with your head up high and be proud and ignore the stupid comments.

Purple: You are indeed doing a great job.  Your Mom's comment certainly wasn't as sensitive as it could have been, and she may be feeling a little uncertain or disconnected from your journey because you're losing weight after surgery and she's not on that path. One thing I love to do with clients is to keep them focused on their goal by journaling their daily thoughts - because our thoughts control our feelings.  One of the things I would want to do with you first and foremost is let your Mom's comment not matter so much.  No one else has your body, you're the one in the drivers seat, and this is the speed it's going at.  And think of it like . . . if you lose just 2 lbs.  every week - that's 104 pounds!  THAT'S HUGE!   WLS is not the Slim Fast route . . . it's a slow, disciplined process . . .you're doing great!  As I also like to say to my clients "Move Boldly Forward in the Directions of Your Dreams!!!"  GO GIRL!   So, what are you going to do for yourself this week for the hard work you've done?  I'll look forward to your reply!

Joanna, thank you for your reply. I think you may be right about why my mother is making these comments. I was speaking with her last week to tell her that the pain I am having is ovarian cysts and that I was told that it may be the reason that I lose a little slower than most. She replies "yea, remember even at weigh****chers how I always lost so much quicker than you?". I really do believe now that she feels disconnected from my journey. I have to just believe that she is focused on her own health issues right now and just can not put her energy into my journey.

I gave a lot of thought as to why her comments bothered me so much. I guess I was just looking for her approval. My weight has always been such an issue for her, I think I wanted her to finally look at my weight loss as a success.

That being said, I am very happy with my progress so far. I've been fat and frumpy for too long and I really lost my sense of self for a long time. Everything I've worn for years had absolutely no personality. I'm no where near thin yet, but I feel so much better and that is what I am focusing on.

This week I bought a new, trendy pocketbook (instead of the plain old black bag) and wore an outfit that I consider fashionable (a knee length black skirt, black stockings, black boots and a tan jacket). I actually felt good and I got so many compliments.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get so long winded.

Sweetie, you're doing awesome!!!  I haven't lost a thing in months!  I haven't hit goal yet, but know I took 9 years to pack it on, may as well give myself some time (1 year) to remove it!

Thanks you Cheri Baby. I'm not letting anyone bring me down. I feel better than I have in years and I'm looking pretty good, if I do say so myself.
