No more plucking of the hairs!!!  (refer. to my last post) the waiting was horrible.  Nov. 16th is right around the corner.  Does anyone have tips on how I should prepare for this? Much appreciated!   Caro

Congratulations Caro for you approval.  That is great news, I can't wait for mine (just had consult last Thursday).   I received a few tips from my doctor's group.  Clean your house. Have a weeks worth of food for yourself.   Make sure you have a comfortable place to sleep...recliner...your bed may not be suitable for you at first.  Have your vitamins  and other prescriptions ready.   I hope this helps some.

Whoooo Hooooo Caro :) It feels great to know your surgery IS going to happen.  I wouldn't buy  alot of protein drinks - your taste will probably change - you are better off waiting to see what works for your post op. Buy small amount and samples if you can. My favorite Achievone (9.5 ounce 20 grams of protein) tastes DELI****s like an iced coffe type drink. I still CHOOSE to have 1 a day. Bring Chap stick to the hospital and wear lose comfy clothes - to go home in. Follow your surgeons orders and you will be fine :)

Congratulations!

Hugs,
Britt

Caro, Yes, clean your house...shop for about a week's worth of food...and get your vitamins.  The first couple of weeks after surgery is tough...but, all worth it.  I found myself very tired...so, just take it easy and go at your own schedule.  Good Luck and keep us posted! Rosemary

I never thought about cleaning my house.. I do it so automatically that I thank you all for the reminder.  I will surely give it a good deep cleaning before I go in.

Initially I was going to get the lapban, but the lady at the MD's office told me that it would be to difficult to get approved for.  Then she explained the success rate of Dr. Kaul w/re: to laparoscopic RNY and she kind of sold me on it.  I went to a couple of support groups that were helpful as well and it just seemed like the right choice for me. So I'm so excited!!!  Just a little worried about what the beginning of my new life is going to be like.  One bump i seem to keep running into, is that people seem to love to just to give their opinion about what decisions i've made and they seem to categorize me more as a failure than a winner.  I've been battling my weight since the age of 8...  TODAY (10/30) is my birthday.. I'm 31.  I think I tried all I could.. :) Thanks all again for your comments.. I really appreciate them.
