Waiting for approval

OMG!!!  The waiting is horrible....  This feels as if someone were plucking my hairs out one by one for a whole week.   Sooooo I have a case number, I was told to check back next week for updates, and I have a tentative surgery date of November 16th. I'm trying really hard to not get my hopes up, should something go wrong and I not get approved. But MAN oh MAN its a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. Question:  Did anyone else have a spouse/partner/loved one whatever...that is/was stressing out at the fact that you are going from being overweight to getting back into shape? I hope all is well on everyones side of the monitor! Caro

LOL at plucking the hairs out.  You are right though!  It's pure torture and it will feel like that was just a blip on your radar once you have gone through the surgery.  Blessings on not stressing over it!

You are doing what I did, plan for the worst and hope for the best. Don't worry, though. Next week by this time , hopefully, you will be posting that you got approved! P.S. My husband has been super supportative of this surgery before, during and after. I wish the same for you. Perhaps your partner, spouse or loved one feels threatened by the change of your appearance when all is said and done. Talk it out and point blank ask about their concerns. Assure him/her that your relationship will change for the better.  This whole ordeal definitely opens the door for very intense discussions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I just went thru the waiting myself - after biting nails for a week, I called the ins co and found out that they never got the paperwork!  So I was on the phone to the Dr. office to have them re-fax the info, then called insurance the next morning to ensure they had it.  Got final approval 5 days after that! My husband was very vague about the surgery before my approval, he said he did not want to influence me one way or the other.  Now that I've made the decision and am approved, he is getting behind the idea, I think he is even getting a little excited about the whole process.  My daughter and son are upset I'm having it done though, both want me to stay the way I am.  I told them that I want to be around to bug them a lot longer! I see we have the same surgeon - Dr. Kaul seems excellent!  My sister had the surgery 5 months ago with Dr. Cerabona, and Dr. Kaul was the second surgeon.  Her surgery was successful, and she is feeling good now. Too bad we won't be in the same time - mine is a week earlier, 11/9.  Best of luck!

Thank you all so very much for your replies.  I really appreciate the support.  My partner viewed the messages and we cleared everything this weekend.  Seems he has a case of bad nerves and is worried about me going through with the surgery itself.   I truly appreciate (again) the responses.  Thank you! :)
