2 Year Anniversary

Hi All, I don't post very often, I usually just reply (if anything), but I just realized that today is my two year anniversary.

In that time my life has changed completly, I lost 145 pounds (in 15 months).  I had the first of my cosmetic procedures in May-a circumvential (sp?) mid body lift and am scheduled for a second procedure (mid body revision and arms) on December 13th. I feel 1000% better and at 48 I feel like I'm 25 (?) :).  I can't thank Dr. Garber (and his whole staff) enough.  He gave me a second chance at living.  My high blood pressure is no more and while I do have a bit of an iron and B-12 deficiency this is no big deal (to me anyway).

I do hope however, that anyone who is thinking about this surgery understands that this is a complete lifestyle change.  You have to be ready to change the way you eat (as well as the way you look at food) and to workout.  It's a major change and should not be undertaken lightly or without much consideration.

With all that said, for me, this has been the best thing I have ever done.  I feel that I am really "living" not just existing.  I look forward to getting up in the morning (and getting dressed is fun now-don't get me starting about shopping) and there aren't enough hours in the day any more. To all who are pre-op good luck and to all of you fellow "loosers" much success and happiness. Best to all, Stacy

Hi Stacy!  Congratulations !!  I am one year post op as of yesterday (10/23) and I worry about maintaining the weight loss. (only 108lbs so far)  Do you find that you have kept all the weight off in the add'l 2nd year?  Do you find staying committed to support meetings helps, etc?  I haven't found a support meeting that works for me yet and I was just curious if that is necessary to stay focused.  I also am looking for an in-network doctor for follow-up visits.  I can't continue to do this out-of-network (which translates to out-of-pocket!!....big time!!).  Thanks for any advice.

Stacy, Congratulations!  You have done a fabulous job.  And, yes, it is a complete life change.  I know people who have had the surgery and seem to think that they can go back to their bad habits....and they wonder why they don't reach their goal.  Its a life-long contract...and I hope I can stick to it...I am trying!
