Favorite Protein powders???
I tried about thirty different samples from Vita-Lady and liked almost all of them. Then I went to GNC and bought the GNC 100% Whey Protein in the red and black containers. The Mixed Berry is so damn good, I drink it purely for the pleasure of it sometimes. I mix it with 1% milk and ice. I also like the chocolate. Next time I go I'm getting Banana and Mixed Berry.
I know most of them say to mix with water, but I do not like them with water at all. 1% or Skim milk makes them yummy. Have your blender ready...you're going to be using it every day for a long time!
I tried Whey and Soy Proteins...hated them.
My nut recommended Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast (blue box). I loved it and still drink it. I think with the 1% milk it was 16 grams per 8 ounces. Made in my MAGIC BULLET with ice!
I had to lose 5% of my body weight in 5 weeks. I did WEIGH****CHERS. The last of the 5 weeks I had I cut my points in half. I needed to lose 12 lbs, lost 17! YOU can do it!!

I used the whey protein sold at Vitamin World. Samples are good if you can get them, but what you like and can tolerate as a pre-op may not work well post-op. Tastes change. Vitamin World will let you return anything you don't like. They are mainly a Long Island company, though, but do have a website. Does anyone know if GNC has a similar policy? My husband likes strawberry flavored whey, while I preferred the chocolate. As for using skim milk, I agree. I could not tolerate the protein made with water. Another thing. Don't force yourself to take in much more than 25 grams of protein at one sitting, as the body can not absorb more than that. I had been told that as a new post-op, and someone reminded my husband of this a few weeks ago. I am 4 1/2 years out, and he is almost 2 months out.
