Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for November 9th at my son's school; my surgery  is the 5th.   I know everyone is different but do you think  I'll be up to going??  I can have my husband go in my place, but  I'm always afraid  he'll forget to tell me something  or won't discuss everything that should be discussed.  I've never missed something like this and I really don't like the thought of missing it this time...  Any thoughts??? I'd think postive and PLAN on going with a "plan b" in place ... just in case!  If you have to miss it Dad - can - do - it! (JUST not like "we" want them too) ha ha ha hugs and best wishes on your surgery!  ~Britt

This time is about you....Deligate...he will be fine.  You need some time for you.  The school and the teachers are there all year, any questions arise later you can ask them.  Let him go. LisaMarie

This will give hubby a great oppurtunity to step up and be there for you and your child.  You can also write him a list of questions to address that might behelpful.  Dont feel guilty, they will be fine and if your teachers are anything like my daughters they are always an email or a phone call away  Good Luck on the 5th (((((((hugs)))))))))))))

Flo;      You may feel up to going.  I had the same surgery as you with the same surgeon.  I had my surgery on a Wed, came home on Fri afternoon and was shopping at walmart on Sunday.  Of course you won't be able to drive so will need someone to go with to drive you, but sounds like hubby can go with.   As long as you only plan to go to the meeting and then back home to relax it may not be a problem.  Guess it is a wait and see kind of thing. You might feel up to going but make a list of questions for hubby to ask just in case!!! Find out if there is a way to contact the teachers (phone or email) if he forgets something... I am sure they will understand if you tell them you were recovering from surgery!! Good luck!!!!  Cece

hi, I too had Dr caruanna and trust me you are not going to want to go, You are still gonna be on pain pills and be in alot of discomfort . How about you bring a flash drive or a samll tape recorder, so you won't miss a single word the teacher told your husband. Good luck on your big day. You are in great hands. sheila
