Topic: RE: Endoscopy
I was so glad to get the psych eval out of the way. I really didn't know what to expect. I told my son that I passed my psych eval and he said "really?" I about kicked him in the you know where. I can't reach that high with my leg anymore since he is 6'2." My daughter just made pumpkin cookies and is sitting here by me eating it trying to torture me. It isn't working, I don't want one at all. It is really nice to not want a cookie. I can't wait till you get your surgery. It is the best thing I have done for a very long time. The 17th is right around the corner. Diana

Do you have Tricare Prime? I do and the only thing I have had to pay for is the nutrition consult and that was $50. Tricare covered everything else. I have a psych eval September 17th and have not heard anything about having to pay for that either.

1. TaReesa 2. North Carolina 3. I went to a civilian provider. My PCM is civilian also. 4. I only have to my pschy eval left before I submit and get my date for surgery. 5. I am just concerned about the recovery. I am worried about pain too. I want to know how much pain to expect after surgery. 6. I have my husband and a few close friends. My mother is against it, but my brothers are for it. 7. Hang in there. It may get tough or the wait may seem long, but don't give up.

I live in Goldsboro. My husband is stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB. We are not too far from Camp Legune. I am seeing Dr. MacDonald. He is in Greenville, NC. He is very good. He has been doing gastric bypass for 20 years. He also works with other doctors in his office.

Topic: RE: Anyone use ChampVA?
I'm pretty sure they do. I don't know what state you are in but you can go here http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/insurers.php to the Insurer By State page. Click on your state it will take you to all the insurers; up towards the top under navigation click on C then scroll down to ChampVA. Then you'll get to see what other ChampVA insurers have said about being approved for surgery. HTH Andi

its nas corpus christi, we actually are stationed at nas kingsville, so its like 30 miles south from corpus. its just a small little town. yea and i have no clue if they even do gastric bypass there. i am not sure if i have to see them in corpus chrisiti then refer me out to a civi in san antonio. but that sure would be nice if i could have done at corpus which is only a 40 mile drive verces san antonio that is 161miles.

Topic: Anyone use ChampVA?
Has anyone had champva to pay for their RNY or pay it without a big hassel? My doctors all tell me I have to have one done, not for weight loss reasons, but to stop all acid productions for reflux. The acid reflux has now caused multiple complications that could eventually be life threating. All other reflux surgeries are not an option for me so 3 doctors have told me. I have barretts esophagus with many ulcers and erosions as well as a bleeding hiatal hernia. My recent biopsies came back with mild dysplasia. Hopefull this surgery will stop the gerd and help heal me so it doesn't become cancer. This also will stop further damage to my lungs due to aspiration. As a side benefit, it will help with weight loss, high blood pressure, diabetes, and my sleep apnea.
