New to all this. Surg. on the 15th
Well I guess I'm considered a lightweight also. I'm 6'3" and started this journey at 345. I had surgery March 24th and as of today am down to 301#. I think being freaked out is normal. Just make sure you have the reasons figured out before you have the surgery. I know the first two nights at home after surgery I was like what the hell did I do but because I was comfortable with my decision before surgery and knew why I was doing this it put my mind at ease. Good Luck on your journey.
Hey man, I am not knocking you or being non-supportive as you may think. I am glad you are taking charge of your health and doing something to help with all of your co-morbidities and your back. I am not trying to condem you or I wouldn't have wished you luck. It is like anything else a lot of times, when a person only gets part of the picture - we sometimes have to inquire about information that is missing - in this way we all don't just jump to conclussions and say things like "Hell, this guy is only 270 lbs. with a BMI of 40 - he doesn't need this life altering surgery that costs tons of money". I will say it again, congratulations for doing something about your problems. Good luck. Taz
I dont take anything personal from someone I dont know. besides I grew up as a parptrooper in the Army. Everything is fair game there. Thanks for the support. I will be driving four hours Mon. to Dallas. I think i am ready. It will take some getting use to from what all you say. I think my biggest worry is not gaining weight back in the long haul.
