New Pic
Hi Folks,
I posted a new picture in my profile and changed my avatar. It was taken in October. I hadn't realized the difference in my face until just now after looking at the old picture. I've NEVER enjoyed having my picture taken, and of course my sister just loves to whip out the camera at family gatherings. I suppose I never wanted to face the concrete proof of how big I was and it was pretty undeniable with pictures.
I'm without my moustache now, though. Last week I was doing a trim with an electric razor and made a slip right in the middle so ended up shaving it all off for the first time since I was 17. It feels weird. I still find myself reaching up to fiddle with it; I didn't realize I had the habit until it was gone. I think I look funny now, but people at work say I look 15 years younger. I don't know whether I will grow it back or not now that I'm receiving those comments :).
I hope to lose another 40 pounds or so from where I'm at now.
Hope all is well with all of you.

Your post made me think about the times that I have shave my beard. I started growing a beard when I was in college and had a goatee back then. I think I shaved it for the first time a few months after I was engaged. My wife's mother didn't recognize me when I came calling and said, "you do know that Karen has a boyfriend?" My father-in-law turned the talbes the first time I saw him without his toupee.
Anyway, I started growing my beard back within a week. I just hate shaving. But, every once in a while, I get inspired and shave. I inevitably start growing it back within a week. I did have an exception when I shaved it the month before my Mom turned 70. I know she really doesn't like the beard, so I stayed clean shaven until after her birthday and then I grew it back. I haven't shaved it in the 13 years since then. Like I said, I just hate shaving.
