My breakfast...RNY over 1 year out...

We talked about this a few weeks ago. But I thought I would share with you what I am eating 1 year out.  This is mostly for newbies here.  I AM NOT A POSTER CHILD FOR WLS!!!  Yet, I may be typical of what you might see, both good and bad.  Also most of this stuff I'll eat throughout the day but my diet will vary more.  I will also get many of my vitamins in at this time. My diet in the morning is what has changed the most.  Instead of going for cereal, I will go for protein and vegetables.  You want to get in your protein first.  So if I am on the run I will mix a protein shake with milk.  If I am not running, I will dig into the fridge.  What I will find there is Wendi's Chili (with extra cheese added), Wendi's Southwest Salad (made with Wendi's Chili), a day old vegetable beef or chicken vegetable soup, stew (crock pot) from a few days before, luncheon meat, cooked frozen spinach or broccoli or mixed vegetables, a Healthy Choice lemon fish dinner from a night before, egg salad or tuna salad (with mayo, sugar free relish [made with Splenda], salt and pepper), all types of nuts, and beef jerkey.  I also may have a small slice of banana, orange, or apple.  I just don't cook much.  Again I am no poster child...just maybe more typical of many RNY guys.  Brian

I, too, am far from what man consider the "normal" WLS patient. But I do consider the WLS to have assisted in turning my life around and making me a happier person!
