TroyBear, Perhaps I misunderstood you or am overreacting - but ARE YOU NUTS??. Every muscle in your body (including your heart) require protein. Without protein you are starving the very muscles and cells that you want to keep. I recognize that you are 22 and will never die, but I respectfully suggest you get back on your program. JoeBear

If you cant stand the protien powder or drinks you can try beans. Mashed or cooked whole, also soy is a great source of protien. The only problem is that you cant get enough down a day to meet your protien requirements. You need protien everyday Protien first!  I still drink shakes but I doctor them up so I can stad to drink them.lol  Derrick

One of the people who works in my doctor's office, (I don't know exactly what his role is) told me about a product sold at GNC called "Lean Edge". It's pre-mixed and comes in half-liter waxboard cartons. I'm too busy in the morning to be jackin' witha blender so I don't mind paying a little extra for the ready to pour stuff. I've tried it and like it. Somehow or another they've completely taken the "protein aftertaste" out of it. It's no more obnoxious than a Slim-Fast. Now that I'm a little further out, I cut it 50/50 with 1% milk to reduce the thickness of it and it's not much different than drinking chocolate milk. The other flavors are Vanilla, Banana, and Strawberry, but I've only tried the Vanilla and Chocolate.  
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

I really do appreciate all that have contributed on the subject.  I am currently taking the New Whey protein which is 42g and i eat pieces of chicken, turkey, or beef jerkey throughout the day. My only concern is, I have my 3 months post check up on the 01/18/2007 and I want to loose more weight before then. I started at 355 and now I am at 297 as of this morning coming from the gym. So, thats a rough 19.3 lbs a month give or take. I am currently at a plateau and it won't let me go.LOL!! but i am serious. This is my typical day:

**I'm on the run early in the mornings for those widened eyes***I drink water all throughout the day*

1:00pm----New Whey Protein 42g

3:00pm- 4-5 Baked Doritos

4:00pm- Grilled chicken wra(lettuce,tomatoe,ff cheese,grilled chicken,bbq sauce) 5:30pm-- 1 or 2 bites of the wrap 6:00pm-- bite of the wrap 9:00pm---throw the remainder of the wrap away.

****any advice/comments give are greatly appreciated****

Try albacore pouch tuna with lettuce,onion,cellery,diced tomato with one tbs ff mayo. Mix to almost a paste than eat with 100% whole wheat crackers. Home made chilli smashed to almost a paste. If you make things at home you can controll the amount of fat and simple carbs  you eat. You just have to get creative with it. Dont forget some veggies also. Another of my favorites is Whole chic breast sauted in whole peeled tom,celery,onion,mushrooms lots of mushrooms, some small red potatoes use what ever seasons you like(we like oregino). Serv over  whole wheat rice. Egg salad with reduced egg yolks for less fat made with ff mayo and mustard served on whole wheat bread is also very good. Hope some of this helps, Derrick

I mix up a scoop of the whey protien in my coffee every morning and then try to eat meat the rest of the day. I suppose I should be drinking mixes all day but the morning coffee tastes great, like mocha.
