Approved today- only took 4 days!!!!!
I can't believe it men, submitted the papers last Thursday and today I got the approval, February 5th. It took 6 months of a supervised diet, but it was worth it.
I'm psyched, shocked, and a bit scared. I thought the date would be 5-6 weeks after the approval, so I only have 4 weeks to get ready.
I'm almost there, just need to get mentally prepared!

I'll bet those 6 months seemed to take forever, but they were part of your preparation. If you need more advice on what to do now, look over older posts and see what Dx has posted. He usually reposts the important stuff about what to bring to the hosp every few weeks. You may want to save his post in a file/folder on your computer so you can easily access it in the future.
Since you're only a bit scared, I think you'll quickly get past that with the flurry of activity prior to the surgery. Only you can decide if this occasion warrants getting financial papers in order. The hospital is probably going to want you to make a living will or medical directive stating what you want done if any complications should occur during your hospital stay. This has been standard operating procedure for several years and shouldn't cause much concern. It just takes a little time to think about.
If you think it would help, you may want friends and family to pray for the success of your WLS and recovery. I was a very high risk patient and was on prayer lines accross the country ( I just asked my family and friends to pray for me and later found they had put the word out via e-mail asking for prayers). I was surprised at how many different congregations of various Christian denominations had been praying for me. I thank God for my life.
