OT - Quick Poll - BCS yeah or neah?

Your post got me thinking. Think about this, perhaps college football is actually greatly limiting how big and popular it can get. If national title hopes weren't limited to those who dominate the Big Ten, SEC, or Big 12 conferences, then imagine how much more excited fans from those other schools could get? Excitement = Revenue = good for all of the other sports that don't make any money - the NCAA needs to stop being the BCS Conferences ***** and do what is right for all of the NCAA!

Part of the argument at Rutgers is that they dropped 9 Letter sports program while increasing the money for the football program.  Also, they've had rather severe cuts in staffing and thus, in classroom hours available.  However, NJ has 9 other smaller State colleges and universities that are not part of Rutgers University.  They all have their hands out for NJ State money, and the State is running a huge deficit.  On the other hand, many past alumni (not poor me) are willing to dig down in their pockets and endow the Rutgers football program.  It's really a pride thing. I told my brother that he's really like any worker who wants to see his workplace improved.  Those of us in the State but not currently going to Rutgers would just like to see them win.  We have enough of the financial and political crap to deal with in our everyday lives.

All I care about is Cal getting to the Rose Bowl.  When they were ranked #2 earlier this year, I was hoping they would lose and not go into the BCS!!  Never thought they would fall so far so fast!!  Yeh I know it's sounds odd, but Cal hasn't been to the Rose Bowl since the 1950's.  Always a bridesmaid and never the bride.  I think I'm more of a purest...Football should start their season the second week of Setember, play 10 games, and 1 bowl game in Dec. or Jan.  Brian    PS Baseball should never be played in November!!

I picked "The Ohio State" to finish 3rd or 4th in the Big Ten this year and they ended up playing in the National Championship. I thought they did very well this season and I'll always be proud of them, but they shouldn't have been in that game. I wold have loved to see SC play. I guess what I'm trying to say is there  "Should" be play offs. Alot of schools depend on the money that is generated in those games. Why do you think North Western wouldn't get out of the Big Ten.....money. That's the reason ND wouldn't join the Big Ten. They can make a bundle playing other schools (and they wouldn't end up 2nd or 3rd every year in the league). just my thoughts, "GO BUCKS!" Dave
