Gotta Good Recipe for Turkey Chili?
CB I don't know if this particular product is available in your area but I cook a big pot of chili at least once a month with Tabasco's pre-made chili sauce that comes in a jar. I'll always add some fresh onions, bell peppers, sliced meat, (steak, pork, chicken) and some hamburger meat and a cup of beer. I'll simmer it for an hour or so and it always comes out perfect.
Tabasco is pretty much nationwide so you should be able to find it at a Wal-Mart supercenter or a big grocery store chain. The link below is what I'm talking about.

This is the one I have been eating forever. Fresh veggies, and everything just tastes amazing...to me at least. I skip the sour cream, and use just a little cheese. This makes about 10-12 servings for me.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 (7 ounce) can salsa
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, or coarsely chopped tomatoes packed in puree
- 1 (7 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 3 medium zucchini, halved lengthwise and sliced
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Crumble turkey into the pot, stirring with a wooden spoon to break apart as much as possible. Season with taco seasoning mix, coriander, oregano, chili flakes, and tomato paste, and mix until meat is evenly coated with seasonings. Continue cooking, reducing heat if necessary, until turkey is well browned.
- Pour in beef broth, and simmer to reduce liquid slightly, about 5 minutes. Add salsa, tomatoes, and green chilies, and continue cooking at a moderate simmer for ten minutes. Adjust the thickness at any time you feel necessary by adding water.
- While chili is still cooking, heat one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook onion and green bell pepper, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes, or until onion is translucent and bell pepper is lightly browned. Add onion and bell pepper to the chili, and continue cooking at a very low simmer.
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the zucchini, and cook stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until lightly browned. Add the zucchini to the chili, reduce heat, and continue cooking 15 minutes more. Again, adjust the consistency with water as needed.
- Ladle chili into serving bowls. Top with sour cream, green onion, and cheddar cheese, and serve.
I like to keep my Chili simple and basic and I like a meaty chili.
3 or 4 pounds of Ground Turkey or Chicken (white or dark meat) I like to mix it up they all have a different texture and taste, its chili, like it matters
3 or 4 large onions diced
1 large can of Diced Tomatoes
1 large Green Pepper diced
2 packets of McCormick’s Mild Chili Seasoning
Just cook in a large pan for hours on a low heat, add a couple of cups of water after it’s about half way cooked.

I live off something the guys at work have named Dog Crap. It looks disgusting, but it taste great to me. It’s almost like chili or sloppy Joe mix.
3 or 4 pounds of Ground Turkey or Chicken (white or dark meat) I like to mix it up they all have a different texture and taste.
3 or 4 large onions diced
1 large Green Pepper diced
For fiber I add a bag of Broccoli to the mix.
Cook this on low heat until the meat is just falling apart, drain the fluids then add 2 small bottles of KC Masterpiece
Let it slow cook forever.
Top with a slice of cheese (I like American).
This batch will last me 3 or 4 meals a day for a week. There’s always plenty left just for me because nobody else will eat it. ********* Oh, and a small Wendy's Chili seem to be one of the few things most of us can eat out at first. And it's surprising high protein and low calorie if you skip the crackers. Earl
